But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children, to such as keep His covenant, and to those who remember His commandments to do them.
Psalms 103:17-18
“And David and his men went to Keilah and fought with the Philistines, struck them with a mighty blow, and took away their livestock. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.” 1 Samuel 23:5 It was a terrifying experience for the men of David to fight on the threshing floor to save the people there, but David emboldened them to do so according to the word of the Lord. As it turned out, David and his men saved the inhabitants of Keilah from certain death.
As terrifying as what the social environment for Christians is today, it progressively gets worse as the global government progressively becomes stronger. Already, we see how every city around the world is living by the thing which forms what they think, feel, and do. It detests Christianity and wants nothing more than for the followers of Christ to disappear. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through people as everyday they make living by the teachings of the Bible very difficult. As it lives and speaks through people, they are conformed to their place in life, their mark in life, as they are groomed to the mark of the beast. As followers of Christ, we find strength in the Holy Bible and through the Holy Spirit.
Meanwhile, the global agenda of the United Nations becomes progressively stronger in implementing their goals in countries around the world. Jesus Christ wants us to hold to His testimony during these difficult days, “….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“ ‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’” “I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.” Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1 Jesus Christ is coming back in total victory over the global government of the beast.
“Now it happened, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David at Keilah, that he went down with an ephod in his hand.” 1 Samuel 23:6 Ahimelech was the priest who feared Saul but fed David and his men the Holy Bread anyway. Ahimelech’s son fled to David with an ephod in hand, an ephod being a very meaningful piece of priestly garment.
Like Abiathar, we must flee to Jesus Christ with an ephod in hand, meaning to come to Him ready to be anointed with the Holy Spirit and to act as ministers of the Gospel of Christ. We are anointed with the Holy Spirit by the remission of sin as we live for God through Jesus. Today, we don’t leave the task of spreading the testimony of Jesus to the churches because we are called to talk about Him who brought us out of darkness into light. “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” 1 Peter 2:9
