“Then Abigail made haste and took two hundred loaves of bread, two skins of wine, five sheep already dressed, five seahs of roasted grain, one hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and loaded them on donkeys.” 1 Samuel 25:18 Abigail wanted to make things right with David and his men. She knew they were of a decent spirit and the anointed of God. She felt it wasn’t right to be harsh and abrasive towards them.
Today, we need to make our life right with God, and all of Christianity, through Jesus Christ by turning away from shearing the Spirit. It’s necessary to feed the human spirit through the Spirit of Christ, with the Gospel of Christ, all of the word of God, and to let the blood of Christ be applied to our soul for the remission of sin and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. We should be filling the human spirit with the things of the Lamb of God to make prosperous the sheep of His flock. We should be filled with voluntary devotion to God through Jesus to enliven the spirit with the Spirit of Christ. With every good thing we should serve the Spirit.
“And she said to her servants, “Go on before me; see, I am coming after you.” But she did not tell her husband Nabal.” 1 Samuel 25:19 Abigail didn’t want Nabal the sheepshearer, her husband, to know she was going to feed David and his men with the fullest and best foods that she had. He would have been very harsh and abrasive towards the goodwill and compassionate deed. Today, we can make atonement with Jesus Christ by filling our soul with His Spirit and make it our practice to fill the human spirit of others with everything necessary to enliven the Spirit of Christ. When we feed the Spirit there will be stiff opposition. That’s because the thing which forms what a person thinks, feels, and does is prohibited from enabling the image of the beast to live and speak through a person when the Spirit lives. They do not want to hear a single peep from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“So it was, as she rode on the donkey, that she went down under cover of the hill; and there were David and his men, coming down toward her, and she met them.” 1 Samuel 25:20 Abigail humbly and quietly met David and his men. When we come to meet Jesus Christ, we should do it humbly and not to make a flashy and antagonistic show of our allegiance to Him. When we feed the soul with the Spirit of Christ, we are fighting against the masses in every city around the world who makes the soul the home of the thing which forms what they do, feel, and think. They allow the image of the beast to live and speak through them.
Softly and tenderly, Jesus is calling, Calling for you and for me, See on the portals He’s waiting and watching, Watching for you and for me. (Church Hymn)
“Now David had said, “Surely in vain I have protected all that this fellow has in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that belongs to him. And he has repaid me evil for good.” 1 Samuel 25:21 It is a sin against God to harden the human spirit to build a wall against the Spirit of Christ. That is exactly what is being done when the Spirit of Christ’s sheep is being sheared. Jesus Christ came to protect us from sin, death, and lawlessness, and it is a brutality to shear the Spirit when He means good towards us.
“May God do so, and more also, to the enemies of David, if I leave one male of all who belong to him by morning light.” 1 Sauel 25:22 God’s judgment will come against those who shear His Spirit because they cause the image of the beast to live and speak through a person. All of the enemies of Christ will suffer eternal hell in the burning lake of fire. Those who welcome the thing which forms what they think, feel, and do are instruments of Satan in this world.
“Now when Abigail saw David, she dismounted quickly from the donkey, fell on her face before David, and bowed down to the ground. So she fell at his feet and said: “On me, my lord, on me let this iniquity be! And please let your maidservant speak in your ears, and hear the words of your maidservant.” 1 Samuel 25:23-24 In this life, our option must be to bow before Jesus Christ, admit our need for Him for the remission of our sin, and know that He will hear the pleas of a repentant spirit.
Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”
Mark 1:40-41
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
