“Now it had happened as they were coming home, when David was returning from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women had come out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with joy, and with musical instruments.” 1 Samuel 18:6 After David defeated Goliath, there was a celebration with music and all of the women were singing and dancing as they approached Saul.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we celebrate the victory He has over sin and death. Because of Him, we are reconciled to God, and we have victory over the ways of this world and will enter eternal life in the New Jerusalem. We celebrate our Salvation in the presence of a world which expects everyone to celebrate life through the mark of the beast. Today, we celebrate the victory that Jesus Christ has over the global government of the beast.
“So the women sang as they danced, and said: “Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands.” 1 Samuel 18:7 When the singers were approaching, Saul probably thought the celebration would be all about him, but they were giving more esteem to David. This is like when the multitudes of people were celebrating and praising Jesus in front of the Jewish leaders for all the miracles of healing and cleansing Jesus was doing. Today, it’s like the followers of Christ who celebrate and praise Him in the presence of those who deny God and trample on the Holy Spirit.
Those who govern by the mark of the beast expect to be esteemed above every other thing in this world. They want to have absolute ownership of the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors of every person. With the ability to form what people think, feel, and do, they want to sit in the temple of God, our body, as if it were God, “…it opposes and exalts itself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that it sits as God in the temple of God, showing itself that it is God” 2 Thessalonians 2:4
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
