They will persecute us by what we say. “So they watched Him, and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, that they might seize on His words, in order to deliver Him to the power and the authority of the governor.” Luke 20:20-26 Jesus Christ called the leaders of the Jewish people hypocrites and white-washed graves, so when they were pretending to be righteous it was no surprise to Him. They wanted Him to say something that could be reported to the Roman governor to have Him put away. As followers of Jesus Christ, there will always be people around us who are waiting to hold against us something we say. In today’s world, there is no criticism allowed at all relating to sin and they detest the need for Jesus Christ. Self-esteem has become more important than calling people sinners, and sharing the Gospel is considered inhumane and grounds for disciplinary action. Society is living by humanism rooted in the mark of the beast. The governors of this world have already taken the Gospel of Christ out of the churches and prohibit sharing Jesus among the public.
Using buttering-up tactics to solicit rebellious intent against the government. “Then they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, we know that You say and teach rightly, and You do not show personal favoritism, but teach the way of God in truth:” Luke 20:21 They love to use “buttering-up” tactics in preparation for “cooking someone’s goose”. They build up a person’s esteem and confidence, which is not the Holy Spirit, but they speak to the Holy Spirit as if He is only emotions and feelings. The only way to have the Holy Spirit is to confess we are sinners in need of the remission of sin through Jesus Christ. That message of repentance is not compatible with today’s system of government, and they asked Jesus, “Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?” Luke 20:22 Money was everything to the Romans, and any rebellion against paying taxes would have the weaponized tax man knocking on the door. Likewise, refusing to pay this present system what is owed to them has life ruining consequences.
Money supply has the inscription of the government who minted it. “But He perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Why do you test Me?” Lue 20:23 Jesus knew they were being crafty in order to get Him to reject God and to say something rebellious against the Roman government. They wanted to hear His refusal to pay taxes. Today, there are constant attempts to get the followers of Jesus to reject their allegiance to Him and to express verbal intent against the government. “Show Me a denarius. Whose image and inscription does it have?” Luke 20:24a. Today, if anyone is employed, they are receiving money printed by the government for the employment given to them by the society who operates for the government. Whose money is it? “They answered and said, “Caesar’s.” Luke 20:24b. All money today has the inscription of whatever government printed the money; all money belongs to “Caesar.” With the digital currency, all money will indisputably belong to the government. Refusing to recognize that is a clear statement of rebellion against those who govern and operate by the mark of the beast. It feeds into the lawlessness and tribulation of this world.
Give to God the things that are God. “And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” Luke 20:25 The things that belong to God are very much different than the things that belong to the government of this world. Our body belongs to God as He created it to have fellowship with Him. When we come to Jesus Christ for the remission of sin, we are reconciled to God and our body becomes the home of the Holy Spirit. We are to give God our body as His temple. The government of this world wants to lay claim to what is God’s. The thing that has power to form thoughts, emotions, and feelings wants to take over the body and sync us to the mark of the beast. It wants to set in the temple of God as God. Along with seeking to own us, they also claim the money supply as theirs, and to keep anyone else from controlling it they are moving to a digital currency.
“But they could not catch Him in His words in the presence of the people. And they marveled at His answer and kept silent.” Luke 20:26 It’s time to prepare for the digital currency by remembering that the money supply, paper or digital, belongs to the government. The Spirit of Christ does not lead us to be rebels against the government, but only expects us to honor God, acknowledge our sin and need for Jesus, and to embrace the Holy Spirit. We belong to God, through Jesus, as the temple of the Holy Spirit.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
