Sold Out in A Color Changing World?

Jesus saw five sparrows being sold for two pennies, and promised He doesn’t forget. He was relating those sparrows to people he cares about. I think some of my siblings feel sold-out by this changing world. Jesus promises none are forgotten.

I have a very interesting family! My Mom and Dad are both Caucasian. My sister had a son with a Cuban nationalist, who was almost deported. Her son went on to have two children of his own, both with very brown skin. My brother has a daughter from marriage to a Mexican girl, and his daughter is obviously Mexican. My cousin has two children, one with a black-skinned man and one child with a Caucasian man. My step-niece has seven children, all with the same man, an Afro-American. All of the above families are in the middle-class income bracket, and their jobs are solid. Their happiness shines, their family harmony sings, and their social circles are active.

I am a white, single, male using SNAP to purchase food. I’m alone, my mailbox is always empty, the telephone doesn’t ring, and there’s nothing interesting to watch on TV. “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:24 I know that Jesus sees my value, and regardless of my financial worth, social status, or color of skin, I have the hope of fellowship among the Angels of Heaven.

I have another sister who is single, living on SNAP and social security. She reminds me of Calamity Jane who was friends with Wild Bill Hitchcock. She has her concealed carry permit and everything. She doesn’t have a large social circle, but she does have a church she attends. The whole church went together to gun carry classes to get their concealed carry permit. About 35 people total. I have another brother who is into motorcycles, and his social network includes bikers. He used to have a gun, but after getting into an altercation, the judge took his guns away. He receives disability income. Neither that brother or sister has children, they are empty-nesters. The one other brother feels betrayed or something, he has a problematic issue with mixed marriages. He has mental and emotional difficulties. It has been a long time since any siblings has seen him. But, God remembers each one of them. Maybe they feel betrayed by the changing world, as if someone sold them out, but Jesus says not one of them is forgotten.

“Because of the price Christ Jesus paid, the good things that came to Abraham might come to the people who are not Jews. And by putting our trust in Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit He has promised.” Galatians 3:14

“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-7
