Jesus has the ability to attract multitudes to hear Him speak, but He states the obvious without interpreting the “moral of the story.” That’s because He speaks from the Spirit of God, and the people were able to sense that there was something much more meaningful to what He was saying.
Jesus reminds everyone what should be done with a light once it has been lit. For sure, architects do not build homes with light sockets designed to be fitted under the bed. And people do not put their lamps under their bed after turning it on. Lights are designed to illuminate a space so that those who come in can see the light, as written here, “No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light.” Luke 8:16 Jesus Christ is the Light of the World, and that light has illuminated every continent around the globe with His Gospel. As followers of Jesus Christ, we have His light burning in us. Even if we are as mute as a lightbulb, our actions speak a thousand words. We are set apart from carnal ways and do not participate in activities that are against the teachings of the Bible. We show by our light that we honor God, we live for Jesus Christ, and we welcome the Holy Spirit.
There is another type of light in this world that illuminates itself wherever it is. It is the thing that has power over physiology to form our thoughts, emotions, feelings, and behaviors. The light it shines works through people who are given uncanny knowledge and heightened intuition. It is of the mark of the beast. With its carnal knowledge of thoughts and feelings, it afflicts the followers of Jesus Christ to extinguish the Light of God that comes through the Spirit of Christ. As Jesus prophetically says, “For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.” Luke 8:17 That also means the followers of Jesus is able to reveal the intent of those who govern by the mark of the beast. We see the formation of the global government of the beast, and we see the presence of the mark of the beast in the world today. By the Holy Spirit, we are able to discern the intent of the mind and heart, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” Hebrews 4:12-13
Some people hear by the uncanny knowledge and heightened intuition given through the mark of the beast, and some hear by the Word of God through the Holy Spirit. Jesus tells us to be careful about that, “Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.” Luke 8:18 If we choose to make our mind and heart the seat of government for the mark of the beast, we will lose everything that comes to us through the light of the Holy Spirit. We will lose our Salvation that comes through Christ by the forgiveness of sins. By keeping our mind and heart open to the Spirit of Christ, we will gain more and more of His Light. Those who govern by the mark of the beast uses money, possessions, and physical comforts to reward people for living by their carnal and Satanic light. They give more to those who allow themselves to be governed by the mark of the beast, and takes away money, possessions, and physical comforts from those who reject them.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
