The Ministry of Jesus Christ is for the Forgiveness of Sins and Healing of the Soul

Luke 5:12-26

The physical healings of Jesus were done to show us that He has the power to forgive sins,

“But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—
He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”

These are the days when healings happen all the time by the thing that has power over physiology and corresponds to the beast as in the mark of the beast. In fact, the masses around the world follow it for that reason, “And I saw one of its heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and its deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast.” Revelation 13:3 The one healing it cannot do is to cleanse the soul of sin, and that cleansing comes by bowing in faith to Jesus Christ, “And it happened when He was in a certain city, that behold, a man who was full of leprosy saw Jesus; and he fell on his face and implored Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Luke 5:12 Jesus is willing to cleanse our mind and heart to make our body the home of the Holy Spirit, and not to be the seat of government for the mark of beast, “Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately the leprosy left him.” Luke 5:13 The very effective testimony for Jesus Christ is from what others see, especially if a person has been cleansed of a filthy mind, heart, and behavior, “And He charged him to tell no one, “But go and show yourself to the priest, and make an offering for your cleansing, as a testimony to them, just as Moses commanded.” Luke 5:14 The testimony of Jesus Christ spreads rapidly from the change people see in us, “However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.” Luke 5:15-16

Those who despise the teachings of the Jesus Christ are watching and calculating their next move, “Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Him to heal them.” Luke 5:17 Jesus could have healed them, but the ones who grasp His attention are those who are set apart by their faith, “Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him.” Luke 5:18 As followers of Jesus Christ, we are set apart from the masses of this world by our faith to come to Him. When a person comes to Jesus Christ, the very first steps are to walk away from the crowds to receive the forgiveness of sin. The masses live on the broad road, and we live on the narrow road. The broad road of the crowds is mainstream society, which is the social network of those who live by the mark of the beast. They make a conscious effort to prohibit people from living for Jesus, but faith in Jesus draws us apart from the Christless community family, as happened here, “And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.” Luke 5:19

The forgiveness of sin is what the ministry of Jesus Christ is all about, that is what reconciles us to God and starts us on the walk of Holiness, “When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” Luke 5:20 Those who govern by the mark of the beast are vigilant against the forgiveness of sin because it makes us the home of the Holy Spirit instead of the seat of government for the mark of the beast. Their attitudes are of the scribes and Pharisees “And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Luke 5:21 The thing that has power over physiology finds it very easy to do physical healings, but the impossible for them is to forgive sins. Jesus poses this question to them, “But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts? Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk’?” Luke 5:22-23 The mission of Jesus Christ is to fulfill the will of God, which is to bring the forgiveness of sins, not to be a “faith healer” “But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.” Luke 5:24-25 When Jesus heals us, we will begin walking in His name, away from the crowds, and praising God. “And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen strange things today!” Luke 5:26

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
