“Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea and a path through the mighty waters, Who brings forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power (They will lie down together, they will not rise; They are extinguished, they are quenched like a wick):” Isaiah 43:16-17
In those verses, the Spirit of the Lord is referring to when He parted the Red Sea to allow the Israelites to cross over safely, then when the Egyptians tried to cross over after them, the sea was brought back together and drowned the Egyptians. The Lord made a path through the mighty waters for the Israelites. The Lord also brought forth the Egyptians with their chariots and horses, their army and power, and caused them to lie down and not rise again. They were extinguished like a candle wick drenched in water, as described in Exodus 14.
Some people have said the biggest miracle was being able to pass through the mud, but the Lord “…took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty.” Even with that said, the Lord made the ground dry, dry enough for the Israelites to walk on without difficulty, but still too treacherous for the wheels of the chariots to travel on. The wheels were removed just allowing the chariots to be able to move over the ground, like a sled, but with difficulty.
The following are excerpts from Exodus 14, “Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided…Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled the army of the Egyptians…And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty…And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.” Exodus 14:21, 24-27
That is prophetic for how the global government of the beast and its global culture is defeated. As followers of Jesus Christ, we will cross over into the promised land of the eternal New Jerusalem, but this present world system will be destroyed. The waters closing in over them describes the global chaos, turbulence, violence, and economic collapse that comes upon those who serve the beast that gives them what to say, do, think, and feel. The dry ground, requiring them to “take of the wheels of their chariots”, describes not being able to enter into the presence of the Holy Spirit due to their dry, clumpy, and hardened heart against God the Creator and Jesus Christ. “And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25:46
The power center of the beast is plunged into darkness, as described in the Fifth Plague of Revelations 16:10-11. That renders the global government and its global culture powerless. At that time, people will no longer have the empowerment of uncanny knowledge, heightened intuition, extraordinary skills and talents, uncanny authority over others, etc. It will be a time of global lawlessness, economic collapse, chaos, and violence. The collapse of the global economy is described in Revelations 18. The Battle of Armageddon happens with the Sixth Plague of Revelations 16:12-16. Our Lord Jesus returns in combination with the Seventh Pague of Revelations 17-21 and also when the Seventh Trumpet sounds of Revelations 11:15-19.
Global warming is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9 and is instrumental in plunging the power center of the beast into darkness.
“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it will spring forth; Will you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19
Through Isaiah, the Spirit of the Lord is saying to the Israelites to turn their focus away from the past and focus on the new things to come. Those new things would also be by the hand of the Lord. While remembering the Exodus and the miracle of the Red Sea is a good thing, it is not a good thing to live in the past and not to see the hand of God working new things in the present and for the future.
2000 years ago, the Jewish people were stuck in the past and weren’t able to say, “Yes!”, to Jesus as the Christ and Son of God. They were unrepentantly stuck in the law of Moses, having Abraham as their Father, and focusing on the lineage of King David to restore the earthly kingdom of Isarel. Our Lord Jesus says, “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?” John 5:46-47 John the Baptist said, “…and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.” Matthew 3:9 By the Holy Spirit, Paul said, “He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’ From this man’s seed, according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior—Jesus—” Acts 13:20-23
The new thing that God has done is to send His Son Jesus Christ to reconcile all the world to Him by the forgiveness of sin through Christ Jesus. Speaking of Jesus, “Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you...in that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete…this is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Luke 22:20, Hebrews 8:13, Hebrews 10:16-17
The New Covenant is this, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16
The new covenant has sprung forth and has been heard on all seven continents around the world. Jesus Christ has made a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, referring to the Holy Spirit springing up within heart and soul of all who believe in Him. How can we know we have the Holy Spirit? If we do not speak against Jesus and say that He is Lord, then we have the Holy Spirit, “Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:3
“The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.”
Matthew 4:16
Will you know it? Do you know the new thing? Do you know the New Covenant God sent through Jesus Christ?
The Jewish people missed it 2000 years ago and are stuck in the past. If they would have said, “Yes!”, to Jesus back then, the State of Israel and the entire Jewish culture would not exist today. Instead, they would be Christian. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are not one ethnicity, not one nation, not one language, but we are many different colors, in many different countries, with many different languages. “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:26-29 We do not have a country on this earth to call our own, our country is the eternal New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth.
“The beast of the field will honor Me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen. This people I have formed for Myself; They will declare My praise.” Isaiah 43:20-21

They will all honor the Lord through Jesus Christ in the context of this verse, “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” John 3:16 We will all honor Him and be eternally one in the New Jerusalem, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24
We have been formed for our Lord through Jesus Christ, by our born-again experience, which is the Gospel of Jesus written on our heart. We declare His praise. “And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There will be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelations 21:3-4
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
