Sing to her, “A vineyard of red wine!” Fury is not in Me. Who would set briers and thorns against Me in battle?

“In that day sing to her, “A vineyard of red wine! I, the Lord, keep it, I water it every moment; Lest any hurt it, I keep it night and day. Isaiah 27:2-3

“In that day” refers to the day that the serpent, “Leviathan”, is destroyed by the Lord, as described in Isaiah 27:1.

When our Lord Jesus gave His life on the Cross, as the Lamb of God, He had victory over Satan the serpent, a.k.a. Leviathan. The resurrection of Jesus Christ sealed His victory over “Leviathan” with the gift of eternal life. Christ Jesus has already won the victory over sin and death and our belief in Him is our victory over sin and death as well. Jesus says, “Because I live, you will live also.” John 14:19

A “vineyard of red wine” refers to the Christ, whose name is Jesus, whose blood was shed on the Cross as the New Wine of the New Covenant for the remission of sin. The covenant of the New Wine is this, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 The vineyard is each person who lives for God through Jesus Christ, as Jesus says, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit…” John 15:5

We are to sing praises to God, through Jesus Christ, in the presence of the Holy Spirit, for the “Vineyard of Red Wine”.

The Lord waters His vineyard every moment with the Water of Life. That Water of Life is the Christ Jesus, “…whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst. But the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life…but this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receiveI will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely...therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” John 4:14, John 7:39, Revelations 21:6, Isaiah 12:3

The Lord guards the “Vineyard of Red Wine” by placing the guardians of Holiness [Cherubim] to guard the Tree of Life from sinful humanity who reject Him, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Those who reject the Lord will not be able to enter into the presence of the Holy Spirit nor into the eternal New Jerusalem, “So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.” Genesis 3:24

“Fury is not in Me. Who would set briers and thorns against Me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.” Isaiah 27:4

The Lord sent His Son Jesus to save not to destroy, “For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” Luke 9:56 Fury is not in Him. “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7

Who would come against the Holiness of our Lord? “Briers and thorns” symbolize the spirit and attitude of every person who does not want the Holy Spirit to be part of their life. They embrace atheism as they deny God is the Creator, and while they reject Jesus as the Christ and Son of God. They serve the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel, and the beast opens the mouth “… in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelations 13:6-8

“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” John 15:6

Lawlessness is a result of rejecting the Holy Spirit and He is the one who restrains lawlessness. The lawless one is destroyed at the coming of our Lord Jesus, “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” 2 Thessalonians 2:6-8 Click for a post on the “lawless one”.

“Or let him take hold of My strength, that he may make peace with Me; and he will make peace with Me.” Isaiah 27:5

To take hold of the strength of the Lord is to enter into His rest, through Jesus Christ, given through His grace and mercy, “There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.” Hebrews 4:9-11 By resting in what the Lord has done for us through His Son, we make peace with Him, “For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.” Colossians 1:19-20

“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. John 15:5-8

“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

To stand with Christ Jesus in today’s atheistic culture is strength indeed…strength through God, in the name Jesus, in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

“Those who come He will cause to take root in Jacob; Israel will blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.” Isaiah 27:6

“Those who come” includes everyone who comes to the cross of Christ Jesus, for the forgiveness of sin, which means to believe in God as Creator, acknowledge Jesus as the Christ and our Lord, and to welcome the presence of the Holy Spirit. You have the Holy Spirit if you speak favorably of Jesus and announce that He is Lord, “Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:3

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are the ones who “…take root in Jacob…”, as quoted, “This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face.” Psalms 24:6 “Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.” Galatians 3:7Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ…and if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:16, 29

“Israel will blossom and bud” refers to everyone who lives for God through Jesus Christ, not the flesh and blood Jewish people. The new Israel is described in this way, “For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed will be called.” That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.” Romans 9:6-8

As the new Israel, we enter into the New Jerusalem, and each of the twelve gates leading into the New Jerusalem has a name of one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. In other words, all Christians become the new tribes of Israel within the eternal New Jerusalem, as quoted, “Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel…” Revelations 21:12

The Gospel of Jesus Christ has reached all seven continents of the world, causing the new “Israel” of Christianity to “…blossom and bud…” and to fill the face of the world with the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Since 1945, when the United Nations was formed, there has been a global falling away from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is explained in the post on 2 Thessalonians 2. The United Nations brought the government of the beast with it, as described in Daniel 8:1-14.

There are no blessings promised to the Jewish people in the New Testament, unless they accept Jesus as the Christ and Son of God. All of the blessings promised to the Jewish people have been transferred to we who put our faith in Jesus Christ, as quoted, “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of itMatthew 21:43 We are the nation, the Christian “nation”, that bears the fruit of the kingdom of God. Jesus speaks this to the Jewish nation, “See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you will see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ” Matthew 23:38-39

“And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”  Matthew 8:11-12 The “sons of the kingdom” are the Jewish people…we who live for God through Jesus Christ are the many who will be sitting in the New Jerusalem with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

“He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:10-13

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
