“In that day Egypt will be like women, and will be afraid and fear because of the waving of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which He waves over it.” Isaiah 19:16
We have to remember that in the days of Isaiah, it was pretty much a “man’s world” where physical might ruled over women who were not successful at being warriors and aggressors. Women were considered more emotional and frail while men were less emotional and strong. There are exceptions to that, such as Deborah, with whom an army commander would not ride into battle without her, as quoted below,
“Now Deborah, a prophetess…was judging Israel at that time…. Then she sent and called for Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, “Has not the Lord God of Israel commanded, ‘Go and deploy troops at Mount Tabor; take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun; and against you I will deploy Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude at the River Kishon; and I will deliver him into your hand’?” And Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go!” So she said, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless there will be no glory for you in the journey you are taking, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” Judges 4:4, 6-9 While Deborah rode into battle with Barak, it was another woman, Jael, who killed Sisera. That is described in Judges chapter 4.
Deborah’s faith was in the word of the Lord, Barak’s faith was in Deborah. It is more glorious to place our faith in God, through Jesus Christ, but no glory in trusting human beings, “How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?” John 5:44
In that day, Egypt “will be like women”, refers to the day that the global culture becomes like women. They are like women in two ways, 1] The agenda of the United Nations is to place women in positions of power and authority in all sectors of society, in every city around the world. They believe that women will contribute to the peace and safety of the world due to their naturally docile and peaceful nature. Plus being empowered by the beast that gives them uncanny knowledge, heightened intuition, extraordinary skills and talents, amazing physical abilities, uncanny authority over others, etc. The natural nature of men are considered to be more aggressive and violent than women, and are not considered good choices for placement in positions of power and authority. 2] When the power center of the beast is plunged into darkness in the Fifth Plague of Revelations 16:10-11, the empowerment coming from the beast will no longer be functional. Instead of empowered, the global culture of the beast will become timid, fearful, and terrified at the global lawlessness, violence, and social upheaval. They “will be like women” in the Day of the Lord, as described in Zachariah 14, and on the day of the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.” Revelations 1:7
The “waving of the hand of the Lord of hosts” is already seen in the appearance of global warming, which women in places of power and authority is not enough to solve it. Global warming is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9, “The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat, and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.” Revelation 16:8-9
“And the land of Judah will be a terror to Egypt; everyone who makes mention of it will be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts which He has determined against it.” Isaiah 19:17
“Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, and your spoil will be divided in your midst…For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; Who can endure it?” Zachariah 14:1, Joel 2:11
Instead of the global culture saying within themselves, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” Revelations 13:4, they will be afraid within themselves in the Day of the Lord.
“…the land of Judah will be a terror to Egypt” refers to the victory of the people of God, we who believe Jesus Christ. We have victory over this world, the global culture, and the government of the beast, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” Matthew 24:29-31 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
