Global government brings persecution but God gives eternal life for faithfulness to Christ.

Isaiah 10:24-26

“Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: “O My people, who dwell in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrian. He will strike you with a rod and lift up his staff against you, in the manner of Egypt. For yet a very little while and the indignation will cease, as will My anger in their destruction.” Isaiah 10:25” Isaiah 10:24

Zion is in Jerusalem, which was within the kingdom of Judah. The Assyrian was a force that would come against Zion, like the Egyptians who oppressed the Israelites and held them in bondage. Even so, the Lord promised that the indignation of living under the Assyrian would cease, as would His anger also cease in the day of the Assyrian’s destruction.

Today, we who live for Jesus Christ are the citizens of Zion, as quoted, “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels…” Hebrews 12:22 The Assyrian represents the global government of the beast that strikes, oppresses, and holds in bondage the gospel of Jesus Christ and all of Christianity. The churches have fallen and have abandoned the message of the Cross to form an alliance with the community culture. Government lawmakers no longer integrate the values of the Bible in laws and policies. The educational system prohibits the teaching of the Bible in classrooms. And the community does not welcome the Gospel of Christ into their social networks. The world serves the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel as they reject God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

The Lord promises that the government of the beast and its global culture will cease and the wrath of the Lord’s anger will cease in the day of their destruction. The day His indignation ceases is the Day of the Lord, as described in Zachariah 14. Also, the Battle of Armageddon is part of the end of His indignation, “I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel…” Joel 3:2 The Valley of Jehoshaphat means “Jehovah has judged” and corresponds to the Battle of Armageddon of the Sixth Plague of Revelations 16:12-17.

“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

Jesus says, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven…” Matthew 5:11-12

During the days of Isaiah, the Israelites were divided between the kingdom of Israel and the the kingdom of Judah [as seen below on the map to the right]. Zion [Jerusalem] was the capital of the kingdom of Judah. The king of the kingdom of Israel formed a military confederacy with the king of Syria, which the lord warned against [through Isaiah]. We are to trust in Him through Jesus Christ and not to rely on physical power and might. The king of the kingdom of Judah did not join the confederacy, that’s the good news. The bad news is that they didn’t rely on God either, but gave offerings to the Assyrian [from the treasures of the temple of God], as quoted, “Then Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria at Lachish, saying, “I have done wrong; turn away from me; whatever you impose on me I will pay…. So Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the house of the Lord and in the treasuries of the king’s house.” 2 Kings 18:14-15

The Lord used the Assyrian to bring His wrath against the kingdom of Israel, and Israel was devastated. The Assyrian then came against the kingdom of Judah, that’s the bad news, but the good news is that Jerusalem was spared. They were spared, but as a “puppet” for the Assyrian who was being paid offerings [from the Lord’s house] by the king of Judah. That’s like giving praise and honor to the beast instead of giving praise and honor to God, through Jesus Christ, in the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Christ, Jesus, says, “How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?” John 5:44

And the Lord of hosts will stir up a scourge for him like the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb; as His rod was on the sea, so will He lift it up in the manner of Egypt.” Isaiah 10:26

The Lord is stirring up great trouble and suffering for the global government of the beast and its global culture. Global warming is already in the world and is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9. Global warming is instrumental in plunging the power center of the beast into darkness, which happens in the Fifth Plague of Revelations 16:10-11. The global government will be rendered powerless which leads to lawlessness and global trouble and suffering. In that global chaos, comes the Battle of Armageddon of the Sixth Plague of Revelations 16:12-16. The full weight of God’s scourge against the global government is described in the events of the Seven Trumpets [Revelations 8, 9. and 11], as well as the events of the Seven Plagues in Revelations 16.

The scourge against the global government will be like that of the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb. That is also the place where Gideon’s forces captured and executed the governors of the Midianites, as described in Judges 7. The scourge will also be like when the Lord parted the Red Sea for the Israelites to cross over but the Egyptians were swallowed up by the sea when they tried to cross over, as described in Exodus 14. Those of the global culture choose to live for the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel. They will not be permitted to cross over into the eternal New Jerusalem. We who believe God and put our faith in Jesus Christ will cross over into the New Jerusalem.

Our Lord Jesus will do this at His return, “Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.” Revelations 19:17-18

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:11
