Two faithful witnesses and the plundering of separatist forces.

“Moreover the Lord said to me, “Take a large scroll, and write on it with a man’s pen concerning Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz. And I will take for Myself faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.” Isaiah 8:1-2

Just to sort things a bit, the Zechariah that Isaiah speaks of is not the prophet Zechariah. The prophet Zechariah lived during the 6th-5th century BC (after the Babylonian captivity). The Zechariah in this verse of Isaiah lived in the 8th century BC. Also, Isaiah had two sons, the first mentioned in Isaiah 7:3, Shear-Jashub, which means “a remnant will return”. The second is Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz, which means  “speed the spoil, hasten the booty”, or, “the looting will come quickly; the prey will be easy”.

Isaiah speaks of the two faithful witnesses, Uriah the priest and Zechariah. The Lord has Isaiah to write on a large scroll, with a man’s pen, concerning “speed the spoil, hasten the booty”. The two faithful witnesses would verify what was written in the scroll, to be a witness to what was written.

Today, the Holy Spirit speaks to us about the “large scroll”. In the Spirit, we know the large scroll as the Bible, which includes the prophecy of Isaiah, all of the prophets, the entire word of God, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The two faithful witnesses are described in Revelations as quoted, “And I will give power to my two witnesses… these are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth.” Revelations 11:3-4 The olive trees symbolize the Holy Spirit and the lampstands symbolize a place to put the Light of Jesus Christ. The two faithful witnesses symbolize every born-again believer that has the oil of the Holy Spirit and holds the Light of Jesus Christ in the spirit and soul. As faithful witnesses of Jesus Christ, the prophets of the Bible, and the entire word of God, we want to be a light to the world in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Our Lord Jesus says, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

What exactly are we witnesses to, as spoken about in these verses of Isaiah? Isaiah, by the Spirit of God, was speaking against those who formed a military confederacy instead of trusting in His word. The confederacy was between the king of the kingdom of Israel and the king of Syria, to fight against the advances of the king of Assyria. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are witnesses against any military confederacy that is formed to fight against the advances of the global government of the beast. We are against any military confederacy, period!! Our warfare is not with flesh and blood, but through Jesus Christ, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.” Zachariah 4:6

The light we share is also against the global government of the beast and its global culture, that their plundering will come quickly and they are easy prey to the Lord. The collapse of the global government is described in Revelations 18. Also, global warming is already in the world and is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9. Today’s culture serves the beast that governs by giving them what to speak, do, think, and say as they reject God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. They must acknowledge that Salvation belongs to God and no other, “…let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:10-12

“Then I went into the prophetess, and she conceived and bore a son. Then the Lord said to me, “Call his name Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz; for before the child will have knowledge to cry ‘My father’ and ‘My mother,’ the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be taken away before the king of Assyria.” Isaiah 8:3-4

The prophetess that Isaiah had his second son with was his wife. Isaiah felt no humiliation whatsoever to recognize his wife as being a prophetess. The child’s name meant, “speed the spoil, hasten the booty”, and as soon as he was born, Damascus [capital of Syria] and Samaria [the capital of Israel] would be plundered. They would be plundered by by the king of Assyria. Damascus is in the area of modern day Syria, shown on the map below, to the right in the brown area. Samaria was the capital of the kingdom of Israel, shown on the map to the right in the darker blue area. Samaria and Damascus formed a military confederacy to counter being conquered by the king of Assyria. The king of Assyria totally plundered the confederacy.

While the Lord used the Assyrians to bring the wrath of His judgment against the military confederacy between the king of Israel and the king of Syria, the Lord would also bring destruction to the Assyrians. The Lord is against any confederacy that relies on the power and might of human efforts while rejecting Him, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. The global government of the beast and its global culture is a confederacy built on atheism and reliance on the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel.

Today, those who rely on their own efforts to conquer the global government of the beast and its global culture are not relying on God through Jesus Christ in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Our warfare is not with flesh and blood but is a spiritual one. Those who rely on a military confederacy or human efforts to fight the global government and its global culture will be overthrown. The goal of the United Nations is to conquer “separatists”, “rebels”, “troublemakers” etc. They purpose to conquer divided territories in order to progress in becoming the undisputed one world government of the beast. The Lord is the one who defeats the government of the beast through the events of the Seven Trumpets of Revelations 8, 9, 11 and the Seven Plagues of Revelations 16. Global warming is already in the world and is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9.

Our Lord Jesus says, “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36

Ezekiel 21:18-20 describes the “Y” in the road that the global government of the beast comes to. The choice has to be made to allow the destruction of Israel first or to come against lawlessness first. Israel is chosen. Also, Ezekiel 21:3 shines light on that decision.
