Motive that turned Sodom into a homosexual city.

“And they said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.” Genesis 19:9a

That verse reveals the motive that turned Sodom into a city known for its homosexuality. That motive is very plainly said, “…he keeps acting as a judge…”. The people of Sodom didn’t want to be preached to about the need to change their way of life to turn to God. They didn’t want to be judged as sinners in need of spiritual cleansing. In retribution for being preached to, the men of Sodom intended to punish the messengers of God with homosexual sex. The intent was to corrupt the righteousness of the messengers with sexual impurity.

In today’s culture, that is exactly what the beast is doing to the decency of individuals. That beast has power over physiology to make people feel “gay” for saying and doing things that shows human decency to one another while declaring the need for the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ. While we feel those feelings, the key is to remember the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. Those feelings are being pressed upon us for being messengers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, a form of persecution. God brings retribution to the persecutor not the persecuted.

This world, under the global government of the beast and its global culture, has become a global city of Sodom.

Who kept acting as a judge against the people of Sodom? One of the two angels who came to stay with lot, as quoted, “Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground. And he said, “Here now, my lords, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way. And they said, “No, but we will spend the night in the open square. But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate. ” Genesis 19:1-3 Angels are messengers of the Lord, similar to how we are the messengers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is a message of repentance of sin, reconciliation with God, walking in Holiness, and the gift of eternal life. Unleavened bread represents sanctification, without the yeast of sin that corrupts the spirit and soul.

“Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.” Genesis 19:4-5

The whole city of Sodom surrounded the house of Lot for one motive…to have homosexual relations with the messengers of God, to corrupt their righteousness. That is how the global culture is today, they want everybody to be welcoming of homosexual relations and to embrace the LGBQT lifestyles. As a group, they are very hostile to individuals who are critical of their atheistic lifestyles, even as they have turned the rainbow of God’s promise into something representing “gay pride”. They are motivated by the beast that gives them what to feel, do, think, and say. That beast intends to corrupt the righteousness of Jesus Christ by pressing upon His messengers homosexual feelings. That is a form of persecution, and God punishes the persecutors not the persecuted. Thank you Lord for your grace, mercy, and judgment.

“So Lot went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him, and said, “Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly! See now, I have two daughters who have not known a man; please, let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them as you wish; only do nothing to these men, since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof.” Genesis 19:6-8

Lot offered the men of Sodom his virgin daughters, if only they would not do the wickedness of corrupting the righteousness of God’s messengers. The culture of today, which is global, is more interested in corrupting the righteousness of those spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ than embracing sexual relations as God intended, between a male and a female.

“And they said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.” So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door.” Genesis 19:9

Lot tried to prevent the men of Sodom from coming into the house to corrupt the righteousness of the the messengers of God. The men of Sodom pressed against Lot, I envision with homosexual implications, to break down the door. It’s worth saying again, God brings retribution to the persecutor not the persecuted. There motive was simply to corrupt the righteousness of the angel of the Lord with homosexual relations for preaching against their anti-God lifestyles. No wonder the world of today is filled with the LGBQT multitudes. Today, the beast with power over physiology is pressing against us to give us homosexual feelings, attempting to break down the door into corrupt homosexual living. Why? Because we live in the righteousness of Jesus Christ and preach the Gospel. A Gospel of repentance, forgiveness, Holiness, and eternal life.

 “But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door. And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.” Genesis 19:10-11

The angels of the Lord pulled Lot back into the house as the men of Sodom were “pressing” upon him. The Holy Spirit keeps us in the House of the Lord as the beast “presses” upon us. That is what God’s grace and mercy is all about, He defends the persecuted and defeats the persecutors, and eternal life is ours by His grace and mercy. The angels of the Lord shut the door and blinded the men of Sodom who were at the door. Our Lord has shut the door that leads into His presence, shuts it to all those who corrupt righteousness to choose homosexuality over living for Jesus Christ. Their eyes are blinded to the door leading into the presence of God, blinded to the presence of the Holy Spirit. In serving the beast that gives them what to feel, do, think, and say, they are weary in trying to find the door.
