In the verse below, “In that day” refers to the day of events described in the post on Isaiah 7:10-17, “The Lord will bring the king of Assyria upon you and your people and your father’s house—days that have not come since the day that Ephraim departed from Judah.” Isaiah 7:17 This relates to the time around the Battle of Armageddon, as described in Ezekiel 39.
“It will be in that day that a man will keep alive a young cow and two sheep; So it will be, from the abundance of milk they give, that he will eat curds; For curds and honey everyone will eat who is left in the land.” Isaiah 7:21-22
Eating “curds and honey” was due to the scarcity of the crops of the land. That scarcity is mentioned in Isaiah 7:23 as well as in Isaiah 5:10. Also, owning just one young cow and just two sheep was due to the scarcity of those animals. Usually, herds of sheep and cows were owned, not just one or two. Even the oxen that were needed to farm the land was not available. In that light, their diet was empty of corn, wine, oil, meat, and vegetables. They had to eat the curds made with milk given from the one cow and two sheep. Curds was like yogurt or cheese, but not like the neatly packaged, attractive looking, and flavored yogurt and cheese of today. And they ate the honey that the bees made for them. Also, eating curds and honey was the diet of those living in poverty, not wealthy enough to own lots of sheep, cattle, oxen, etc.
In that day around the Battle of Armageddon, this planet will be in economic peril. The global economy collapses and its global culture falls into lawlessness and chaos. The collapse of the global economy is described in Revelations 18. Even today, we see how global warming is adversely affecting the growing of crops and upsetting global economics. Global warming is the Fourth Plague of Revelations 16:8-9. Also, reduced sunlight affects crop production, which geoengineering causes as a result of combatting global warming. Then there is soil degradation which occurs for many reasons, including overuse of pesticides by farmers and the fallout of nuclear and biological weapons. Also the increase in pests and plant diseases due to warmer temperatures preventing the earth from producing crops. They also say that the reduction of the bee population [pollinators] results in the reduction of the earth’s ability to produce.
Also, there is the event of the First Trumpet of Revelations 8:7, where much of the earth is burned up, “The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up. and there is hail and fire mixed with blood hurled onto the earth.” Revelation 8:7
Envision what the earth will look like around the time of the Battle of Armageddon! Scarcity of resources would be an understatement. “Curds and honey everyone will eat who is left in the land.”
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
