God unleashes His judgment on the Jewish people for their rejection of the word of the Holy One of Israel.

“Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root will be as rottenness, and their blossom will ascend like dust...” Isaiah 5:24

As we know, from the root grows the entire plant. If the root is rotten, nothing grows and the blossom becomes nothing more than the dust of the earth. Those roots are like the stubble and chaff that are burned in the fire. Isaiah was saying that the Israelites were supposed to be the root that gives blossom as the children of God. However, they were totally corrupt, far from living in the will of God, far from the Ten Commandments, and far from the atonement of sin made through animal sacrifices. Their root was rottenness. John the Baptist also referred to the Jewish leaders of his day as being fruitless and rotten to the core, in need of showing fruit worthy of repentance, “But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance…” Matthew 3:7-8 Jesus also referred to the rottenness of the root rot of the Jewish leaders, as described in Matthew 23.

Today, the Jewish people, especially as seen through the State of Israel, have rottenness in their the roots. They are suppose to be the root giving fruit to belief in God through Jesus Christ. Instead, they are still suffering root rot by the rejection of Jesus as the Christ and Son of God. The fruit of the Holy Spirit is like dust, because there is no fruit of repentance in the Jewish culture. Through the State of Israel, the root rot is seen in the constant wars and conflicts, in having the most liberal abortion rights in the world, embracing the LGBQT lifestyles, the frequent protests, and riots against their own government, etc.

Our Lord has given the Jewish people [the sons of the Kingdom] over to the fires of Hell, like stubble and chaff to be burned. They must come to God through Jesus Christ like everyone else, to show the fruit of being born-again, and to blossom with the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Our Lord Jesus says this, “And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”  Matthew 8:11-12 And also, “…for I say to you, you will see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ” Matthew 23:39

Not seeing Jesus again means not being admitted into the eternal New Jerusalem where He lives today and for eternity.

Because they have rejected the law of the Lord of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 5:24b

Our Lord Jesus was Jewish, of Israel, from the Tribe of Judah…He is the Holy One of Israel.

The reason the root of the Israelites was rottenness is because they rejected the law of the Lord, which included the Ten Commandments and the law of sacrifices to atone for sin. The reason the root of the Jewish people of today is rottenness is because they reject Jesus as the Christ who was prophesied about in the Old Testament. They reject Jesus as being the Lamb of God who atones for the sin of the world. They have despised the word of God and despise the word made flesh through Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Peter, through the Holy Spirit, spoke these words to the Jewish people, “The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.” Acts 3:13-15

“Therefore the anger of the Lord is aroused against His people; He has stretched out His hand against them and stricken them, and the hills trembled. Their carcasses were as refuse in the midst of the streets.” Isaiah 5:25

Those words are spoken to the Jewish people of today, and specifically pointed to the Jewish people who were gathered to the State of Israel. They value their own Jewish nation over living for God as Christians. The anger of the Lord is aroused against them and His hand is stretched out to stricken them. What we are seeing today against Israel is nothing compared to how the hills will tremble and their carcasses will lay in the street during the Battle of Armageddon. Click here for a post on the day after the Battle of Armageddon from Ezekiel 39.

The Lord gathered the Jewish people to Israel in 1948 as the place where He unleashes His judgment against them, as quoted, “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you. Yes, I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you shall be melted in its midst.” Ezekiel 22:19-21

Also, the Lord says to the Jewish people, “I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out.” Ezekiel 20:34

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.” Isaiah 5:25b

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
