“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil…” Isaiah 5:20a
We live in a world that is doing just that… calling evil good, and good evil. Today’s culture, which is global, calls the evil of serving the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel a good thing. They call the good of believing God, acknowledging the need for Jesus Christ, and living in the presence of the Holy Spirit a bad thing.
A perfect example of that is how today’s culture embraces humanism as the ultimate expression of the goodness of humanity. Humanism is the fig leaf worn by those who serve the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel. Humanism is “…an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of solving human problems.” We who believe in the need for the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ are considered hostile to humanitarian principles.
The beast that today’s global culture serves sets itself up as God, within the temple of God [our body], as if is God. That is the one “… who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4 The “he” in that verse is the “man of sin”. “Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness…” Isaiah 5:20b
Today’s culture puts darkness in the place of light and gives light to benefit darkness. They put the darkness of unbelief, rejection of Jesus, and opposition to the Holy Spirit in the place where the Light of Jesus Christ should shine. The light given for darkness comes through the empowerment of uncanny knowledge and heightened intuition. That empowerment comes through the beast that has power over physiology to give people what to think and feel.
Today’s culture truly loves darkness more than light. They even portray themselves as ministers of righteousness, which basically comes by embracing humanism. Satan, the father of the beast they serve, disguises himself as an angel of light. “And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 They serve the beast with two horns like a lamb [Revelations 13:11-13], which is Satan’s version of the Holy Spirit.
The children of light, we who live in the Light of Jesus Christ, are not wanted by today’s atheistic culture. That’s because today’s culture bonds with the 6-6-6 [Revelations 13:18], which is unbelief in God [6], rejection of Jesus Christ [6], and opposition to the Holy Spirit [6].
“Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Isaiah 5:20c
Today’s culture puts bitterness in the place of the sweetness of the Holy Spirit and calls sweet whatever or whoever is bitter to the way of Jesus Christ. The evidence of that is seen in the opposition to the fruit of the Holy Spirit. When goodness arises, some sort of evil counters it. When faith arises, some sort of despairing news counters it. When joy arises, some sort of sad news counters sit. When love arises, hatred counters it. When goodwill arises, mal-intent counters it. Where kindness arises, some degree of cruelty counters it. Where patience arises, some sort of necessity arises to make us feel rushed. Where self-control arises, temptations are put in front of us. Where perseverance arises, more and more tasks are given to us.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
