“Woe to those who rise early in the morning, that they may pursue intoxicating drink; Who continue until night, till wine inflames them!” Isaiah 5:11
The culture of the Israelites was filled with people that spent all day drinking alcohol. They loved drinking more than what they loved God and those around them. The Ten Commandments and the sacrifices to atone for sin were discarded in exchange for substance abuse. They were inflamed with substance abuse day and night. That describes the people of cities all across the United States as substance abuse has reached epidemic proportions. People all around them mean less than their craving to be under the influence of intoxicants. God is not in their thoughts, they shun the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit is drowned out by their intoxication.
Jesus says, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40
The Holy Spirit speaks of intoxication in the sense that addiction to the desires of the flesh means more than living for God through Jesus Christ. That includes living for the beast that has power over physiology to give people what to feel, do, think, and say. People are living day and night by the intoxication of uncanny knowledge, heightened intuition, extraordinary skills and talents, uncanny authority over others, amazing physical abilities, a feeling of fleshly comfort, pleasure, etc. That beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people everywhere. By what they are given to say and do they are groomed to the mark, name, and number of the beast.
“The harp and the strings, the tambourine and flute, and wine are in their feasts; But they do not regard the work of the Lord, nor consider the operation of His hands.” Isaiah 5:12
In those days, all music was live and in-person because stereos, radios, music apps, etc. did not exist. With the all day drinking, there were women and men playing music as live entertainment. That music enlivened them, made them feel like dancing, laughing, intermingling, etc. However, within the festive music, there was no celebration or worship of God, just self-indulgence in whatever made them feel happy, alive, empowered, and pleasurable. Today, we know how music at parties have nothing to do with worshipping God through Jesus Christ in the presence of the Holy Spirit. No one at those gatherings are saying, “Hey!” Play the “B-I-B-L-E that’s the book for me!”
In the manmade churches of today, the music being performed is nothing more than entertainment to enliven emotions to make the congregation feel good. It sounds like worship music and even mentions God but the name of Jesus is not being glorified. The God their music worships is the false god that gives them what to feel, say, do, and think. That beast gives them rhythm. Whenever the Living God is worshipped, the name of Jesus Christ is glorified because the Holy Spirit is there. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are a Trinity, so wherever one is…there is worship for all three. That is what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is, that God sent His Son Jesus Christ to atone for sin and the Holy Spirit within us is evidence of eternal life. “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance…” Ephesians 1:13-14
Father, Son and Holy Ghost,
One in Three, and Three in One;
as by the celestial host,
let Thy will on earth be done;
praise by all to Thee be giv’n,
glorious Lord of earth and heav’n.
Now, O God, Thine own I am,
now I give Thee back Thine own:
freedom, friends, and health, and fame,
consecrate to Thee alone;
Thine I live, thrice happy I;
happ’er still, forThine I die!
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
