“For the Lord spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying…” Isaiah 8:11
The Lord strongly warned Isaiah not to walk in the way of the the Israelites of the kingdom of Israel. At that time, the Israelites were divided between the kingdom of Israel and the kingdom of Judah [as seen in the image below]. The king of Syria made an alliance [a confederacy] with the king of Israel to conquer the king of Judah. That would enable the Israelites to be united as one kingdom, a kingdom turned against God. The Israelites of the kingdom of Israel welcomed the confederacy because they felt it was necessary to ward off an invasion from the king of Assyria. They refused the waters of peace and rejoiced in rallying for war, “Inasmuch as these people refused the waters of Shiloah that flow softly, and rejoice in Rezin and in Remaliah’s son; Isaiah 8:6 That is described in the post on Isaiah 8:5-8
Today, we see how the government of the State of Israel has formed a confederacy with the United States. That alliance is based on security for Israel through military and political power. As followers of Jesus Christ, the Lord warns us not to walk in the ways of that confederacy. The peace that Jesus brings is not the peace that comes with guns and bombs, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” Zachariah 4:6
Today, a confederacy is being formed with the beast that has power over physiology to govern by giving people what to speak, do, think, and feel. That confederacy denies God, rejects Jesus Christ, and opposes the presence of the Holy Spirit. Nations around the world have formed an alliance with the beast, which was brought into existence when the United Nations was formed in 1945, as described in Daniel 8:1-14. The global culture of the beast now exists in every city around the world. The beast gives breath/life to the image of the beast to speak by speaking and living through people. By what they are given to say and do the are groomed to the mark, name, and number of the beast. The Lord warns us not to walk in their ways.
The mage to the right shows the division between the kingdom of Israel and the kingdom of Judah.

“Do not say, ‘A confederacy,’ concerning all that this people call a confederacy, nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” Isaiah 8:12
Isaiah was warned by the Lord not to call a confederacy what the Israelites were calling a confederacy. In other words, do not accept the unification of the Israelites rooted in military power and might. Today, we must not recognize Israel’s alliances based on military and political power. Unification comes through belief in God through Jesus Christ in the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Lord told Isaiah not to be afraid of the Israelites’ threats, who threatened him for not accepting the confederacy that brought them military and political power. Today, Christians are called unflattering names, and accused of not being a Christian because we do not accept the confederacy of Israel with the United Sates based on military and political power. The Lord told Isaiah not to be troubled in his stance against the confederacy of the Israelites. Likewise, the Lord does not want us to be troubled in our stance against the military and political confederacy with Israel. “Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in me.” John 14:1
Also, the Lord warns us against calling a confederacy what the global culture calls a confederacy. Their confederacy is with the beast that gives them what to speak, do, think, and feel. In contrast, we remain united with belief in God, acknowledging our need for Jesus Christ, and embracing the presence of the Holy Spirit.
“The Lord of hosts, Him you will hallow; Let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread.” Isaiah 8:13
The Lord says to Isaiah that he should stand alone in his reverence for Him and His Holiness. The fear and dread of the Lord should be stronger than the fear of the multitude of Israelites that reject Him. Likewise, as followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord Jesus Jesus says, “…do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28
To those of the State of Israel, they should be giving reverence to God and acknowledging His Holiness. That means to live for God through Jesus Christ instead of depending on a confederacy rooted in political and military power. They are to fear God and let Him be their dread, not to fear the enemies that surround them on every side, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” Zachariah 4:6
“He will be as a sanctuary, but a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, as a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And many among them will stumble; They will fall and be broken, be snared and taken.” Isaiah 8:14-15
For Isaiah, the Lord would be a sanctuary for him because he did not join with the confederacy that united the Israelites by the threat of war. Isaiah would walk in the fear of the Lord, by the word of God, a way of peace. The word of God encourages us to come apart from the confederacy of this atheistic world to live in the sanctuary of our Lord, Jesus Christ, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.” Revelations 18:4-5
Our Lord Jesus wanted to be a sanctuary for the Jewish people, but they refused. If they would have accepted Jesus as the Christ and Son of God 2000 years ago, they would have avoided the atrocities that have come against them since their rejection of Him. For example, the Holocaust would never have happened and the the State of Israel would never have existed. Today, the Israelis have built a violent confederacy with military and political power, they have fallen into a vicious snare and trap. With Christ as their sanctuary, the Jewish people would have been Christian for over 2000 years, with no Jewish culture and no Jewish nationality. In Christ, there is neither Jew nor Greek, but we are all one in Him. As Christians, we do not have a country on this earth to call our own, we live as citizens of the nation we are born into. Our country is the eternal New Jerusalem of the new heaven and earth.
Today, Jesus Christ has become a stone that the Jewish people have tripped over and they are offended by Him. Instead of seeing Jesus as their sanctuary, they cling to the Jewish culture and the State of Israel, which as we see they are tripping and falling in this world without Him. They have fallen into the trap and snare of a worldly confederacy, which has left them with 18 wars since they were established as the State of Israel in 1948. As we see through modern history, many of the Jewish people have stumbled horribly, they have fallen in very hard places, and they have been and are being broken.
“Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.” Matthew 21:42-44
The Kingdom of God has been taken from the Jewish people and given to whoever believes in Jesus Christ. We are the nation bearing fruit of the Kingdom of God through Jesus Christ.
Our Lord Jesus says, “…blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” Matthew 11:6
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
