Perversion of Israel leads to its total devastation.

Micah 3:8-12

“But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord, and of justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.” Micah 3:8

The prophecy given to Micah was from God, by the “Spirit of the Lord”, and he had the authority to speak of justice and sin.

In essence, our Lord Jesus said the same, as quoted, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:18-19 Jesus Christ also said that He had the power to forgive sin, “When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”…Jesus said, “But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” Mark 2:5-7, 10-11

Jesus had the authority to preach to the leaders of the Jewish people and to declare their sin, as seen in Matthew 23. He also said, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ” Matthew 23:37-39

“Now hear this, you heads of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who abhor justice and pervert all equity, who build up Zion with bloodshed and Jerusalem with iniquity…” Micah 3:9-10

The post on Micah 3:1-3 shows how all of the 14 Prime Ministers, since the State of Israel was established in 1948, built up Zion with bloodshed. There have been 18 Israeli wars under 14 Prime Ministers. The post on Micah 2:8-11 shows how Jerusalem is filled with iniquity. They are not living by the spiritual justice and equity that is given through Jesus Christ but have thrown themselves off kilter by living for the ways of this world.

“Her heads judge for a bribe, her priests teach for pay, and her prophets divine for money. Yet they lean on the Lord, and say, “Is not the Lord among us? No harm can come upon us.” Micah 3;11

This verse describes how the rulers over the Israeli people are very insincere about their faith in God. They are more concerned for the gains they have in this world than living for the reward of the eternal New Jerusalem. In fact, the whole Jewish culture around the world is insincere about their faith in God because they reject Jesus as Christ and Son of God. And yet, as we see the public face that the Jewish leaders and people wear, they put forth that they are leaning on God and the Lord is with them. Even though the Lord says, “He will even hide His face from them at that time, because they have been evil in their deeds.” Micah 3:4

“Therefore because of you Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become heaps of ruins, and the mountain of the temple like the bare hills of the forest.” Micah 3:12

Today, the mountain where the first and second temple once stood [commonly called Mount Zion], is called the Temple Mount, in eastern Jerusalem, not in Israeli territory, as today Jerusalem is divided between West and East. Our Lord Jesus said this about the temple, “Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone will be left here upon another, that will not be thrown down.” Matthew 24:1-2 In about 70 A.D., 37 years after the death, resurrection, and ascension of the Jesus, the Roman general, Titus, completely destroyed the temple. It was never completely rebuilt/restored.

The first temple was the one king Solomon built, but it was destroyed by the Babylonians in about 587 BC. The second temple was built about 516 BC, then destroyed in 70 A.D. by the Roman general Titus [who later became the emperor of Rome]. The gold dome, seen in the picture below, is built on top of where king Solomon’s and the second temple was built. The Muslims captured Jerusalem, 637 years after the birth of Christ, and they put the gold dome where the temple once stood. The official reason for the dome is that it was built to commemorate Mohammed flying on a horse named Buraq from Mecca to Al Aqsa Mosque. The gold dome is an Islamic shrine on the Temple Mount. This shrine isn’t a mosque but a large octagonal structure that supports a dome over a rock.

In 1967, the Israelis recaptured the Temple Mount in the Six Day War, but, after the dust settled, Prime Minister Levi Eshkol returned the authority of the Temple Mount to the Islamic Waqf.

As described in the post on, The Day after the Battle of Armageddon of Ezekiel 39, we read of the total devastation of Jerusalem.

“Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father…But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:21, 23-24

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:1
