“The word of the Lord that came to Micah of Moresheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.” Micah 1:1
This verse explains what the word of God was all about, which came through Micah. For starters, the House of Israel [all twelve tribes of Israel] became split with about ten tribes being in the north [Samaria or also known as Israel and Ephraim] and about two tribes, Judah and Benjamin, being in the south [Judah]. The capital of the north kingdom was Samaria, and the capital of the south kingdom was Jerusalem. That is shown in the picture below,

How did the northern kingdom of Israel/Samaria come about? After Solomon died, his irresponsible son [Rehoboam] brought ruin to everything Solomon built. There was a rebellion against Rehoboam in which Jeroboam [a servant of Solomon’s from the tribe of Ephraim], established the northern kingdom of Israel/or Samaria/or Ephraim. In the south, the kingdom of Judah, there were two tribes that remained loyal to king David [David being from the tribe of Judah and Jesus also being from that tribe]. This is also symbolic of the split between the Jewish people, who reject Jesus Christ, and Christians who accept Jesus as the Christ and Son of God. The whole house of Israel consists of those who serve God through Jesus Christ, “For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.” Romans 9:6-8 “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:29
It was about 158 years after the split of the twelve tribes of Israel that Jotham reigned, which is the first king mentioned in Micah 1:1. With the schism existing in the twelve tribes of Israel, the word of God [that came through Micah] was given during the rule of the kings Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah. Jotham was the father of Ahaz and Ahaz was the father of Hezekiah. This is three generations of kings where Ahaz ruled after Jotham and Hezekiah ruled after Ahaz. Below is a brief description of what the three kings were like.
Through Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah we see the progression of the one world government coming into power. It begins with the rebellion of the global culture against Godly governors, which forces change in leadership to form “cooperative” government leaders to the will of an atheistic culture, which leads to the global takeover of nations through the economy.
Jotham: During the reign of Jotham, the people continued in their corrupt practices, and the high places were not removed, despite his personal faithfulness to the Lord. The “high places” represent worship to false gods and despite the Godly leadership of Jotham, the population he ruled served those false gods. As followers of Jesus Christ, we all know the rebellion of those who refuse the leadership of anyone faithful to the living God. That’s because we live in a culture, which is global, serving the entity giving people what to think, feel, do, and say. This is the one “...who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4. The “he” in this verse is referring to the “man of sin” Click here for a post on the “Man of Sin”.
Ahaz, the son of Jotham: Ahaz did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He followed the ways of the nations all around him and ignored the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments made the Jewish people so much different than the world around them. For example, the nations around them believed in human sacrifices but the Israelites respected human life and sacrificed bulls, goats, and other animals instead. However, Ahaz literally sacrificed his son in the fire to appease the false gods of the other nations. As followers of Jesus Christ, we know what it is like to be living under atheistic leadership and surrounded by an atheistic culture, which is remarkably portrayed in Psalms 73.
Like the world we see today, Ahaz’s reign was marred by political turmoil, spiritual decline, and wars. In the face of military threats, Ahaz sought military support from foreigners and in exchange he plundered the temple of God and the temple’s treasury. This resulted in the closing of the temple doors and halting worship of the Living God. That is like the world today that serves the goals of the United Nations, which is progressing as the one world government [global government of the beast]. In America, the churches have abandoned the Gospel of Christ, government lawmakers no longer integrated the values of the Bible into laws and policies, the educational system does not allow the Bible to be taught in classrooms, and Christianity is not wanted in any sector of society. On top of the falling away from God that happened in the culture under Jotham, the actions of Ahaz led to setting a low point in the Jewish nation’s history.
Immediately at the end of WW2, the United Nations was formed and brought the government of the beast with it, as described in Daniel 8:1-14. The formation of the global government of the beast, and global leaders surrendering, is further described in Revelation 17.
Hezekiah, the son of Ahaz: While Hezekiah is remembered as one of Judah’s most faithful kings, doing what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as David had done, he showed the Babylonian envoys all his treasures, a decision that Isaiah prophesied would lead to future Babylonian captivity. Babylon symbolizes the global government of today, and as we know, the global economy and all the treasures of the world are to be under the control of the one world government. Even as I type this, the world is engaged in a huge trade war over who is profiting at the expense of others. More specifically, the United States president, Donald Trump, says that the USA is being bankrupt by the nations of the world through the economy of trade. He is raising tariffs on just about every nation, including Canada, European Union, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, etc. This shows how even the “friendly” nations of the world are, and have been over the years, whittling away at the wealth and treasures of the United States.
We live in a world where the treasures and wealth of every country in this world are an open book, for other countries to see. That is partially seen because of the international stock exchange. More than that, the global government of the United Nations knows exactly how much income to expect from other nations. The United Nations relies on financial funding from 193 nations; each contribution is based on a nation’s economic capacity and national income. The United States is its largest financial donor. The picture below shows the open book of a nation’s contribution to the United Nations.

While Hezekiah allowed the treasures and wealth of the nation to fall into the hands of the Babylonians [which led to their captivity to Babylon] what he did right was seen in his significant religious reforms. He reopened the temple, cleansed it, and restored proper worship, including the celebration of the Passover. He removed the high places, smashed the sacred stones, and cut down the Asherah poles, even breaking into pieces the bronze serpent Moses had made, which the Israelites had begun to worship. Hezekiah also demonstrated strong leadership during the Assyrian invasion led by Sennacherib. He fortified Jerusalem, built a tunnel to secure the city’s water supply, and sought the Lord’s deliverance through prayer and the counsel of the prophet Isaiah.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we see how the wealth and treasures of this world are progressively being given into the hands of the United Nations. Even so, our faithfulness belongs to God, through Jesus Christ, in the presence of the Holy spirit. “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
