“Then God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?” And he said, “It is right for me to be angry, even to death!” But the Lord said, “You have had pity on the plant for which you have not labored, nor made it grow, which came up in a night and perished in a night. And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left—and much livestock?” Jonah 4:9-11
Jonah had more anger and pity over a plant than he did about the many souls perishing in Ninevah. The souls of people are more important to God than having pity for the life of this world’s eco-system. That is why He sent Jesus Christ to give His life on the Cross as the “Lamb of God” to forgive sin with grace and mercy. God did not respect Cain’s offering, but Able’s He did. That’s because Cain’s offering was from the vegetation growing up from the earth, but Able’s was a lamb from his flock. Able’s offering represents the offering of Jesus as the “Lamb of God”. “And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.” Genesis 4:3-5
Today’s global culture puts an enormous amount of energy to focus on saving the eco-system but disregards the souls of human beings by opposing belief in God, scoffing at forgiveness through Jesus Christ, and oppressing the presence of the Holy Spirit. Today’s culture pities the eco-system and is angry about the deterioration of the earth but cares less about the many people who need the forgiveness, grace, and mercy found in Jesus Christ. The global culture is built on the entity that replaces the spirit and conscience of people by its power over physiology to give people what to think, feel, say, and do. This atheistic entity enlivens the image of the beast to live and speak through the people of the world as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do.
Like Jonah, who had nothing to do with the creation of the plant, today’s global culture is angry about a failing eco-system that they had no part in creating. All things are created by God and only through Him can all things be restored to life, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” Genesis 1:1, John 1:3-5
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
