Jonah 2:7

“When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the Lord; And my prayer went up to You, into Your holy temple.” Jonah 2:7

We can imagine the “faint-heartedness” of Jonah from being in the belly of a fish and in the deep waters, far from the dry earth, for three days and three nights. That “faint-heartedness” is a time when the mind, spirit, and soul senses doom and hopelessness and we yearn to be restored to the safe and peaceful shores.

When we feel “faint-hearted” in this world where love and compassion has gone cold, we only have Jesus Christ who gives us some since of peace, sanity, and hope. He is “...the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.” Song of Solomon 2:1

We can hear the “faint-heartedness” of our Lord Jesus Christ as He hung dying on the Cross and said, “I thirst” John 19:28. His thirst is for the Salvation of souls, to reconcile us to God and to live in the Holy Spirit by the atonement for sin that He made on the Cross. In this Christless world, where love has gone cold, Christ is being put to death. As Christians, our thirst is for the Spirit of Christ and to see a world living in the Holy Spirit. Our prayer goes up to God as we find ourselves in the belly of an atheistic culture.

When I’m Low in Spirit I Cry Lord Lift Me Up
I Want to Go Higher with Thee
But The Lord Knows I Can’t Live on The Mountain
And So, He Picked Out a Valley for Me

He Leads Me Beside Still Waters
Still Waters Somewhere in The Valley Below
He Draws Me Aside to Be Tested and Tried
But In the Valley, He Restoreth My Soul
[Song}

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:1
