“Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.” Jonah 1:17

Our Lord Jesus Christ used the example of Jonah being in the belly of the fish for three days and nights signifying Him being dead in the grave [after His crucifixion] for three days and three nights. Jesus said, ” For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” Matthew 12:40

God prepared for the great fish to swallow up Jesus Christ, which is to say that God prepared His Son, Jesus, as the “Lamb of God” who would atone for sin by being crucified on the Cross, then after three days be resurrected to life [as a sign of His power over death and ability to give eternal life]. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Jesus Christ knew that He was going into the belly of the fish, to be dead in the heart of the earth, for three days and three nights, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death, and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.” Matthew 20:18-19

Jesus said, “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.” John 12:27-28

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
