“But the Lord sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up. Then the mariners were afraid; and every man cried out to his god, and threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea, to lighten the load. But Jonah had gone down into the lowest parts of the ship, had lain down, and was fast asleep. So the captain came to him, and said to him, “What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish.” Jonah 1:4-6
There was a great windstorm, the ship was threatened to be destroyed, Jonah was sleeping during all that time, and the captain said to Jonah, “What do you mean, sleeper?” This is similar to what happened in the New Testament. A great windstorm came, the boat was threatened to be destroyed, Jesus was sleeping during all that time, and those in the boat said to Jesus, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
“Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!” Mark 4:36-41
The windstorms come when the calling and belief in God is absent, the need for Jesus Christ is mocked, and the Holy Spirit is oppressed. This is a time when the world turns away from the Gospel of Christ [which is the born-again experience] and the Holy Spirit [who restrains lawlessness] is taken out of the way. This is a time when an awakening of the Gospel [Jesus Christ] needs to happen within our heart, soul, and mind. “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 Click here for a post on the “lawless one”.
The “lawless one” is also known as the “man of the sin”, and this entity’s arrival corresponds with the tribulation in the world [the great windstorm]. Jesus seems to be sleeping during this time, but we who live for His calling through His Gospel know how wide awake He is, and how much light he gives to us. The “man of sin”/“lawless one” is the one “…who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4 We are the temple of God, and the “man of sin” sets within us by the power over physiology to give people what to think, feel, say, and do. This atheistic entity enlivens the image of the beast to live and speak through people as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
