Plundering and betrayal of the enemies of Israel by those of this world.

Obadiah 1:5-9

There is only one chapter in Obadiah.

“If thieves had come to you, if robbers by night—Oh, how you will be cut off!—Would they not have stolen till they had enough? If grape-gatherers had come to you, would they not have left some gleanings? “Oh, how Esau shall be searched out! How his hidden treasures shall be sought after!” Obadiah 1:5-6

The enemies of Israel in the Middle East, who live by the religion of Islam, will be cut off. They will be cut off from the power derived from the global nations and be like a land plundered to desolation. Once the United Nations is done using them [such as Iran] to destabilize the independence of Israel and the United States with acts of “terrorism”, they will be put in their place. The Islamic countries will no longer have the power of a global reach to operate within territories beyond their own borders. God uses the global government and its global culture to bring judgment against those of this earth.

The religion of Islam will be cut off from the graces of the global government and its global culture because Islam is not compatible with the goals of the United Nations. In a huge way, this involves the treatment of women under the dictates of Islam. The United Nations’ goal is to put women in places of authority and power. The reasoning for that is women are believed to be more peaceful by nature than the more aggressive males. The goal is to bring global peace and stability through female authority instead of relying on belief in God, our need for Jesus Christ, and the presence of the Holy Spirit. This is the essence of serving the creature instead of the Creator, “…who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.” Romans 1:25 The religion of Islam is 180 degrees contrary to men submitting themselves to the authority of women.

The thieves coming to the Middle East enemies of Israel will leave them barren of the Islamic religion, military power [“terroristic”], and especially nuclear capabilities. They will be completely cut off. Usually, thieves quit stealing when they have enough of what they want, but the thieves will rob the Islamic culture beyond what is necessary. The enemies of Israel will be stripped bare. Usually, the “grape-gatherers” would leave some grapes on the vine for those passing through, but the Islamic countries will not be left one grape of the culture of Islam. All of the “hidden treasures” of the Islamic countries will be sought out and plundered.

As Christians, we follow our Lord Jesus Christ who says to us, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

“All the men in your confederacy shall force you to the border; The men at peace with you shall deceive you and prevail against you. those who eat your bread shall lay a trap for you. No one is aware of it.” Obadiah 1:7

“All the men in your confederacy” refers to the collaboration with global powers that gave the Islamic countries [such as Iran] the global reach and intelligence to carry out warfare against Israel and the United States. That confederacy also involves the global culture that riots and protests against countries that violate women rights. The global government and its culture will contain the countries who live by the Islamic religion, which is to force them to the border. Presently, the Islamic countries, such as Iran, feels at peace with the global government for the service they are doing against Israel and America. They are being deceived. The global government has only one goal, and that is to be the one world government, and any country, religion, or politics that stands in the way will be contained to the border. “Those who eat their bread” refers to those who tolerate the Islamic religion long enough to destabilize the governments of Israel, America, etc. However, they will set a trap for the Islamic countries when they are no longer useful.

“Will I not in that day,” says the Lord, “Even destroy the wise men from Edom, and understanding from the mountains of Esau? Then your mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that everyone from the mountains of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.” Obadiah 1:8-9

God will cause the wise men of the Middle East enemies of Israel to be destroyed along with their understanding [Teman is a country east of Israel and part of Islam]. The destruction of their wisdom and understanding comes while they are on this earth. God will use the instruments of this world to accomplish that. The Islamic countries will no longer have access to information and knowledge necessary to be effective against other countries. This is a time when the United Nations no longer needs them to destabilize Israel, America, etc. This is a time when the United Nations feel comfortable as the one world government and has Israel and America “under their thumb”. The Islamic religion will be slaughtered, and the authority and power of women will rule.

The Holy Spirit teaches us through the Apostle Paul that we do not rely on the wisdom and knowledge of this world, but we live by the gospel of Christ, which is written on our heart through our born-again experience, “Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”; and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” 1 Corinthians 3:18-20
