“And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled…” Colossians 1:21
Being born-again changes our mind and heart so that we are no longer alienated and enemies of the Cross of Christ and of the presence of the Holy Spirit in our life. “Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James 4:4
“…in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight…” Colossians 1:22
Our Lord Jesus has reconciled us to God by the death He died on the Cross to forgive our sin by the grace and mercy of God. When God sees Jesus Christ in us, through the Holy Spirit, we are presented as Holy, blameless, and above reproach in His eyes. We will always be sinners while here on this earth, but it is Christ in us who is Holy, blameless, and above reproach, and that is all God looks at when we believe in Him through Jesus Christ in the presence of the Holy Spirit. “The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.” 1 Corinthians 15:42-44
As long as we hold to our faith in God, through Jesus Christ, we will always be considered Holy, blameless, and above reproach in His eyes, “— if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.” Colossians 1:23
The culture of this world will never consider Christians to be Holy, blameless, or above reproach, but we are not of this world, we live for the New Jerusalem to come. “…because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” John 15:19
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
