“O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? Have you suffered so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?” Galatians 3:1-3
Before Paul asked the Galatians who persuaded them against the truth of Jesus Christ, he described to them how he confronted the hypocrisy of Peter who put the powerful leaders of Judaism before the message of Salvation to the Gentiles [Galatians 2]. In fact, Paul described how he had no contact with the Church leaders until three years after his born-again experience, and then never saw them again until fourteen years later Galatians 1:15-18 [During which time he confronted the hypocrisy of Peter].
When Paul described his confrontation with Peter, he did so to show the Galatians that no one is so powerful and influential that they should be followed if it deters away from the Gospel of Christ. “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:6
We have been born-again by faith in Jesus Christ, and that experience led to a complete change of life, led us from a previous lifestyle to a change of heart, mind, and spirit. For someone to lead us away from our born-again experience, setting a different Gospel than the one that changed our life [no matter who how influential they are in the Church or anywhere else], we have to turn from them and remain in Christ. This is the Gospel in one verse, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Paul explains to the Galatians that the Holy Spirit does not come through circumcision, animal sacrifices, nor any other works, laws, nor other human efforts, but came to them by the faith they received when hearing the Gospel. They believed God through Jesus Christ not through the letter of the law. Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?
There is an entity in this world that has power over physiology to give people what to feel and think to influence what they say and do. Its purpose is to enflame the desires of the flesh to entice people to focus on the pleasures, ways, and offerings of this world. As people focus on carnal human nature their attention on the Spirit fades away. That is when the atheistic entity enlivens the image of the beast to live and speak through people. They are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
