The mind of Holiness in Jesus Christ, within His humbleness, is the same mind that should be in us.

Philippians 2:5-11

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians 2:5-8

The mind that was in Jesus Christ is that He felt completely comfortable referring to Himself as being equal with God, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father…” John 14:9 At the same time, realizing His position in the Holy Trinity as part of the Godhead, He came to serve in the form of a bondservant of those times, coming as a flesh and blood human being. Jesus did not come to make a reputation for Himself as a king riding on a powerful stallion, instead chose to ride on a lowly donkey. Jesus was willing to lay down His life on the Cross, an emblem of suffering, shame, and lawlessness in order to bring the forgiveness of sin to whoever believes in Him.

The mind that was in our Lord Jesus Christ is the same mind that needs to be in us. No matter how much esteem, dignity, and respect are or are not given to us, it’s more important to live in a humble spirit. Remember, Jesus does not sit on the stallion of our soul, but He sits on the lowly donkey of our soul. Jesus makes His triumphant entry through the humbleness of our soul.

Today’s culture is known to shower esteem, dignity, and respect on those who live for the entity that lives in their mind and feelings to influence what is said and done. That is the pride of their culture. They puff themselves up while discarding belief in God, scoffing at the need for the forgiveness of sin, and oppress the presence of the Holy Spirit. The creature is served instead of the Creator. In their sense of superiority, they allow the image of the beast to live and speak through them as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do.

“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11

Because of the humbleness of Jesus Christ, to live as a human being as part of the Godhead, to be condemned as a criminal, to become sin in our place, and to forgive our sin by His sacrifice on the cross, God exalted Him and gave Him the name which is above every name. Because of His humility to give His life as a sacrifice for sin, at His name every knee should bow of those in Heaven and on earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Like Jesus Christ, God has made us a special people to Him through His Son Jesus, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:1
