Grace brings eternal Salvation and redeems us from lawlessness

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.” Titus 2:11-14

The best way that I know grace is by those who have a child, realizing the child needs a tremendous amount of molding and shaping from birth, especially through the “terrible twos”, and yet calling the child their son or daughter. That is the grace of God that brings Salvation to us, to all people in this world, to accept us just as we are and as we were from our natural birth. From the moment of our birth in Jesus Christ, God calls us His own, even during the “terrible twos” as we are molded and shaped into His image by the Holy Spirit. I still remember the change in my life the moment I gave my life to Jesus; I changed my past lifestyle and habits and had a renewal in my thought processes and spirit. I was truly born-again. I went through the “terrible twos” after being born-again, but Jesus never left me through all of my cantankerous ways.

From birth, and throughout the “terrible twos”, the Spirit teaches us to avoid ungodliness and worldly lusts that pursues the satisfaction of the flesh instead of living soberly, righteously, and Godly as we focus on the hope and the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. While we were still sinners, Jesus laid down His life on the Cross to atone for our sin, so that whoever desired a second chance, a first chance even, could come to Him and change their life. Whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. In my own life, Jesus saved me from literal lawlessness and saved me from spiritual lawlessness as well. I now cherish the Holy Spirit that sets me apart from the lawlessness going on in this world and keeps me on the right side of the law of the Spirit.

We are God’s own special people who are called out of darkness and into His marvelous light, people who are enlivened by good works, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light…” 1 Peter 2:9

“Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.” Titus 2:15

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
