“But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine…” Titus 2:1
Regardless of what the worldly members of the churches in Crete were like, Paul encouraged Titus to speak with words of sound doctrine. Sound doctrine is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
The wisdom of God is so much greater than our own, and His role for women within the family speaks of this. Many in today’s culture has a problem with the following scripture concerning the role of women, “…that [women] admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.” Titus 2:4-5 But consider the next paragraph,
We live in a world that believes peace and goodwill to the world comes by placing women in positions of power and authority, with men no longer being the head, and no longer the head of the family. Today’s culture serves the creature human being, instead of God, which means the natural nature of women is considered to be more tame, civil, and peaceful than men. The goal of the Unite Nations, the government of the beast, is to promote women into places of power and authority to foster world peace. Women are empowered by the entity with power over physiology to give them uncanny knowledge, heightened intuition, extraordinary skills and talents etc. Women are empowered to succeed within an atheistic global culture and the sound doctrine given by God through Jesus Christ has been discarded.
Women are used by the global government to propel the new world culture forward, which is governed by the entity that is able to give people what to think and feel to influence what they say and do. This atheistic entity enlivens the image of the beast to live and speak through people and they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they are given to say and do.
God, by the Holy Spirit, has expectations for men and women, as husband and wife and as parents, and they involve the Holy Scriptures, the Gospel of Christ, “…that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— ” Titus 2:2-3
The following is a description of the doctrine the Christian family is to be reverent to and sound in faith, “Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once 1 Corinthians 15:1-6
“Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.” Titus 2:6-8
“Exhort bondservants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back, not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.” Titus 2:9-10
Philemon 1:8-25 discusses how Philemon’s born-again runaway slave was to be treated as a brother in Christ. “Bondservants”, could also be interpreted as today’s employees, those outside the natural family and indebted to work for others. When the Bible was written, there was no labor market, labor pool, unemployment rates, etc., like we have today, as the slave market was as close to that as what there was. Employees should be obedient to employers, doing well in all tasks, not being insubordinate and sassy, not stealing, but being faithful and good stewards of time and resources.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
