Ezekiel 47:21-23
“Thus you shall divide this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. It shall be that you will divide it by lot as an inheritance for yourselves, and for the strangers who dwell among you and who bear children among you. They shall be to you as native-born among the children of Israel; they shall have an inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.” Ezekiel 47:21 22
It can be said that the followers of Jesus Christ are the strangers among Israel. Through our Lord Jesus, we are adopted and made part of the house of Israel. God considers us to be His native-born children with full rights to the blessings of His promises and inheritors of the promised land. We are bearing children to God in the name of Jesus Christ.
Since the coming of Jesus Christ, there is no inheritance nor blessings mentioned in the New Testament for Israel. All of the inheritance and promises of blessings for Israel in the Old Testament have been transferred to the followers of Jesus Christ, as quoted, “For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed…And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Romans 9:6-8, Galatians 3:29
Today, we know that the State of Israel is not the promised land to be inherited. The New Jerusalem is the eternal promised land for all who believe Jesus Christ, and that promised land is in the new heaven and earth, after this current heaven and earth are destroyed. With that said, the Jewish people have the inheritance of their earthly promised land which is the State of Israel. By rejecting Jesus Christ, the Jewish people have no inheritance in the New Jerusalem.
“And it shall be that in whatever tribe the stranger dwells, there you shall give him his inheritance,” says the Lord God.” Ezekiel 47:23
“If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,” Romans 11:17 Some of the branches that were broken off are the unbelieving Jewish nation, and all of us non-Jews who believe Jesus Christ have been grafted into the family of God. We share in the nourishing sap of the promises of God flowing from Jesus. “…do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.” Romans 11:18 As non-Jewish members of the family of God, we must never feel superior to the Jewish people, after all, Jesus Christ is Jewish who is the Savior of the world. We have been adopted into His family, and without the Jewish existence we have no existence as the children of God.
