Ezekiel 45:7
“The prince shall have a section on one side and the other of the holy district and the city’s property; and bordering on the holy district and the city’s property, extending westward on the west side and eastward on the east side, the length shall be side by side with one of the tribal portions, from the west border to the east border.” Ezekiel 45:7
The “tribal portions” that the “Prince’s section” border would be Judah to the north and Benjamin to the south, as seen in the very first picture of the previous post. To the east, it stretches to the Dead Sea and to the west it stretches t0 the Mediterranean Sea. The “Prince’s section” is seen in the white area to the right and left of the Holy District in the picture below. This area is more clearly seen in the very first picture of the previous post, which is the land east and west of the yellow square.
We know Jesus Christ is the Prince, so all of the Prince’s section belongs to Him as well. However, this section is not part of the Holy District where He and all the believers are gathered with Him. The Prince’s section is the area where Jesus Christ is seeking the one lost sheep and where He sends His laborers into field.
“Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:35-38
“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.” Luke 15:4-7
The area outside of the Prince’s section is where the Jewish people, whose ancestry is rooted in the twelve original tribes of Israel, have hardened their heart against Jesus Christ. This is also the place where those of this world deny God, reject the need of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin, and oppress the presence of the Holy Spirit. “For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed…” Matthew 13:15
