We are given the firstfruits, sacrifices, and ground meal to live on.

“The best of all firstfruits of any kind, and every sacrifice of any kind from all your sacrifices, shall be the priest’s; also you shall give to the priest the first of your ground meal, to cause a blessing to rest on your house.” Ezekiel 44:30

As Believers of Jesus Christ and ministers of the Gospel of Christ, God wants us to have the very best of everything He has to offer, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.’ James 1:17 He wants our spirit to blossom with the fruit of the Holy Spirit, “... the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23

God also wants those who live for Jesus Christ to give Him the very best of our life and to give Him the “meal offering”. We do that by devoting ourselves to the word of God, to embrace the presence of the Holy Spirit, and to be a sweet aroma to Him, “For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.” 2 Corinthians 2:15 The greatest offering of all is the living sacrifice of self, the offering of devotion to God through Jesus Christ.
