Faithful few ministers can come near to God through Jesus Christ.

Ezekiel 44:15

“But the priests, the Levites, the sons of Zadok, who kept charge of My sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from Me, they shall come near Me to minister to Me; and they shall stand before Me to offer to Me the fat and the blood,” says the Lord God.” Ezekiel 44:15

There were very few faithful priests over the sanctuary of God when the Israelites went astray. The faithful few are those who God accepted into His presence to offer sacrifices to Him. These faithful ones were walking on the narrow road while being surrounded by the multitude on the broad road who turned away from God. Today, we who believe in Jesus Christ are among the very few who are faithful to God who walk in the presence of the Holy Spirit. God accepts our plea for the forgiveness of sin, and our offerings of worship, praise, and devotion.

God has made us a royal priesthood, through Jesus Christ, so that we can proclaim His Gospel. We are similar to the few faithful priests in the days of Ezekiel, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10

Envision just a few who are faithful to the testimony of Jesus when the entire social culture are atheists who do not believe God, scoff at the need for the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ and are oppressive to the presence of the Holy Spirit. That describes today’s social atmosphere. Today’s culture is unwelcoming to the gospel of Jesus Christ and hostile to the expression of Christian beliefs. As is more than obvious, they are also hostile towards the existence of Israel.

Ezekiel was living in that hostility, as he was trying to share the word of God to those who flatly refused to be bothered with the word of God. God told Ezekiel to shut himself inside his house, and even after he does, those hostile to his preaching would tie him up in ropes to prevent him from circulating in the community, as quoted, “Go, shut yourself inside your house. And you, O son of man, surely they will put ropes on you and bind you with them, so that you cannot go out among them.” Ezekiel 3:24-25 Click here for the full post on Ezekiel 34.

God says to us, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven…” Revelation 18:4 This amounts to staying in our homes instead of being part of today’s culture. Anyway, they keep us locked in at home because they are hostile and very unwelcoming for Christians to be a part of their community. They live by the entity giving them what to think, feel, do, and say, but we live for Jesus Christ in what we want to say and do. Jesus Christ even prayed that we would not be taken out of this world, but to be kept from the evil one, “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:15-17

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
