The complete description of the “Third Temple” and the place where it sits is described from Ezekiel 40-48. This certainly makes it crystal clear that the “Third Temple” is not a manmade structure on this earth.
Ezekiel’s vision of the Temple, in this chapter 41, is referred to as the “Third Temple”. The first Temple was built by Solomon around 95oBC, as described in 1 Kings 6. This first Temple was destroyed in 587BC, as described in 2 Kings 25. Ezekiel saw the vision of the “Third Temple” around 572BC, just years after the destruction of the first Temple. The second Temple was built around 516BC, as described beginning in Haggai 1, but it was not the same Temple as shown in the pictures below. The second Temple was destroyed in 70AD, by the Roman general Titus, just 37 years after the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ, as Jesus spoke about in Mathhew 24:1-2. The “Third Temple” of Ezekiel’s vision has never been built on this earth, and never will be, because this refers to the temple of the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth as described in Revelation 21 and Revelation 22.
In the New Jerusalem, God and Jesus Christ are the Temple, there is no temple, or church, like those here on earth, “And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.” Revelation 21:22
When Jesus Christ came, he made us the temple of God and we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. There is no more need for an earthly tabernacle, sanctuary, nor temple. “But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.” Hebrews 9:11-12 In this chapter of Ezekiel 41, he is talking about the same temple he speaks about in Ezekiel 43. “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.” Acts 17:24

Ezekiel is speaking about an eternal temple where God is going to live among us forever. In the new Temple, in the New Jerusalem, there will be no more sin as God’s Holy name will never be defiled again. “He said: “Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place for the soles of my feet. This is where I will live among the Israelites forever. The people of Israel will never again defile my holy name—neither they nor their kings—by their prostitution and the funeral offerings for their kings at their death. Ezekiel 43:7”
Through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (named changed to Israel in Genesis 32:27-28) we have been made the children of Israel. Jesus is the fulfillment of the promise made to Abraham, and we are His children adopted into the family of Israel (Jacob). We inherit an eternal home in the New Jerusalem, not an earthly home in the old Jerusalem of this world. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13
“And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:29
In the same way that John, in Revelation 21, gives earthly measurements and descriptions of the eternal New Jerusalem, Ezekiel is doing the same when describing this “Third Temple”. This temple has never been built here on earth, and never will be, because it is describing the New Jerusalem.

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
