“Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and bucklers, the bows and arrows, the javelins and spears; and they will make fires with them for seven years.” Ezekiel 39:9

This verse is basically describing the “day after”, the day after the Battle of Armageddon.

The phrase, “those who dwell in the cities of Israel” refers to the remnant, or survivors, remaining alive after the Battle of Armageddon. There will be some time remaining between the events of the Sixth Trumpet and Sixth Plague and the destruction of the earth (Seventh Plague of Revelation 16:17-21) and the return of Jesus Christ (Seventh Trumpet of Revelation 11:15-19). In fact, between the Sixth Trumpet and Seventh Trumpet, and between the Sixth Plague and Seventh Plague, the faithful witnesses who hold to the testimony of Jesus Christ are slaughtered and left in the streets to die. No doubt, this happens during the slaughter mentioned in the Sixth Trumpet of Revelation 9:13-20, which coincides with the Battle of Armageddon in the Sixth Plague.

After the Battle of Armageddon, the remnant/survivors of Israel will go out and burn all the weapons that are left on the ground by the armies of the defeated and slaughtered global military. The number of weapons will be so many that fires will made from them for “seven years”. The world government and its global culture are completely defeated as their global military lay in ruins and its weapons are used to make fires by the survivors of Israel. The weapons could be used as firewood for whatever purposes needed, either for cooking, to create warmth, just to destroy them, etc, but the weapons used to make fire will last for “seven years”.

This is a great victory for the remnant of Israel as well as for everyone who holds to the testimony of Jesus Christ. “After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” Revelation 19:1-3

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
