“And when the children of your people speak to you, saying, ‘Will you not show us what you mean by these?’—say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Surely I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will join them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.’” Ezekiel 37:18-19

The leaders of the Jewish people have never understood the promise that God made to Abraham, to multiply the descendants of Israel through those who serve God through faith and belief in Jesus Christ. They couldn’t understand that Gentiles could have their sin forgiven and be adopted into the house of Israel through Jesus Christ. They kept questioning Jesus, ‘Will you not show us what you mean by these?’ Jesus replied, “I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.” They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. You do the deeds of your father.” John 8:37-41

More on the “two sticks” is described in the posts on Ezekiel 37:15-16 and Ezekiel 37:17.

God makes His intention clear to join the Jewish people with non-Jewish people through Jesus Christ, which is to join the “stick” of Judah and Ephraim with the house of Israel. As quoted, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13

“For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.” Romans 9:6-9 God intends for the Jewish people to be made one with the non-Jewish people through Jesus Christ and to be one in the hand of God. “Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.” Galatians 3:16

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
