Animal attacks are rampant and ongoing here in Pickaway County, two this week.

“The righteous are kind to their animals, but a mean person is cruel.” Proverbs 12:10 CEV

The events of the two posts below were practically on the same day, one on October 22nd and the other on the 21st. One happened in New holland and the other in Ashville, both in Pickaway County, the county where I currently live.

There are people in this area that do all they can to create chaos, meanness, conflict, and terror in Pickaway County. In the one incident, where two dogs killed a 73 year of age woman, the entire neighborhood was under a mandatory lock down until the dogs were captured and euthanized. The woman was working in her flower bed when attacked by two dogs.

People are deliberately making their dogs mean then being irresponsible in letting them roam loose. They make them mean by not allowing the dogs, and other pets, to show natural affection. If a dog wags it tail, then the owner shouts at it, hits it etc. If the dog wants to play it is met with hostility. If the dog wants to be a lap dog and show affection it is met with hateful attitudes. The owners themselves are oppressive to the Holy Spirit within themselves and do not allow the fruit of the Spirit to live in them. They are not righteous people, and their inhumane grooming of animals is evident of that, “The righteous are kind to their animals, but a mean person is cruel.”

Unfortunately, well-intended, affectionate, and good-hearted people are also being treated like animals, and bad results follow.

Part of Bible prophecy is that mean-spirited animals will roam the earth, “…she has become a dwelling for demons and a haunt for every impure spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal.” Revelation 18:2  And also, “So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.” Revelation 6:8

God created us to be rulers over all the animals of the earth, through His Spirit, so let’s show kindness, goodwill, and love to all living creatures, which will spill over into showing goodwill to other people.

We live in a world today where an atheistic entity replaces the conscience, spirit, and righteousness of human beings by giving them what to think, feel, do, and say. This entity detests belief in the love of the Living God, builds a wall against the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ, and oppresses the presence of the Holy Spirit. This atheistic entity is giving life to the beast to live through people as they are subject to the mark of the beast by what they are given to do and say.

As followers of Jesus Christ, let’s share the compassion, love, mercy, grace, and kindness that God has shown us by sending His Son Jesus. “Jesus said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’  On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40
