“And utter a parable to the rebellious house, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God:” Ezekiel 24:3a.
The Israelites were hardened to the word of God and had fallen far from the Ten Commandments. Therefore, Ezekiel used parables to speak the truth of God to them. When the Holy Spirit inspires those parables, they are as good as the word of God. Jesus Christ is the word of God made flesh, and He spoke many parables to teach the truth of God.
Parables are used to speak the truth of God to those who otherwise close their ears and heart to the testimony of Jesus Christ. Parables use elements of this world to plant the seed of the truth that is found in Jesus Christ. Jesus used many parables in speaking to those of this world but explained fully the spiritual meaning to His disciples. By the Holy Spirit, the meaning of the words of Jesus Christ are understood and grow within our spirit and soul to bring fruit of the righteousness of God. This is written about Jesus Christ, “I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.” Psalms 78:2 This is verified in the New Testament, “I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.” Matthew 13:35
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
