“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20 When one person commits violence against another, this is not two people gathering in the name of Jesus Christ.

What has happened to the Holy Spirit within the heart and soul of people? That is the same question to ask about where has the Gospel of Jesus Christ gone in today’s culture. With that, ask what has happened to belief in the Living God? The Holy Spirit is given to us by living for God through Jesus Christ, and He is the restrainer of lawlessness. Unfortunately, people suppress the presence of the Holy Spirit and He is being taken out of the way, “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed…” 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 Click here for a post on the “lawless one”.

This world brings a lot of suffering, mourning, and affliction, and our Lord Jesus says this, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:3-10
