“Also, I raised My hand in an oath to those in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the Gentiles and disperse them throughout the countries, because they had not executed My judgments, but had despised My statutes, profaned My Sabbaths, and their eyes were fixed on their fathers’ idols.” Ezekiel 20:23-24

In the wilderness, God swore that He would scatter the Israelites throughout the countries instead of completely annihilating them. The Jewish people were scattered and dispersed across the globe, far from the land of Israel beginning in 70AD. That is the year that the Roman general, Titus, completely destroyed Jerusalem and demolished the temple. For 1848 years, until 1948, the Jewish people migrated to places around the world, including places across the ocean, like the United States of America.

The worldwide scattering of the Jewish people happened just 37 years after the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. God scattered them because they rejected Jesus Christ as their Messiah, continued to defile the Sabbaths with their corrupt teaching of the scriptures, and exalting their Jewish culture as an idol above Jesus Christ. The regathering of the Jewish people to the land of Israel in 1948 is described in Ezekiel 22:19-20 and also Ezekiel 36:20.

In the map below, we see how far and wide the dispersion of the Jewish people went across the globe. That map shows where the Jewish people are today, with the larger half being in the State of Israel and the smaller half being in the United States. The halves are not a perfect 50-50 split because there are Jewish people in many other countries, just not near as many as what is in Israel and America. They are indeed scattered and dispersed among the non-Jewish population (Gentiles).

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
