Oath of God came with the requirement to turn from sin and false gods.

Ezekiel 20:7

“Then I said to them, ‘Each of you, throw away the abominations which are before his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.’” Ezekiel 20:7

In preparation of entering the promised land of Canaan, the Israelites were told to turn away from everything they had learned under the bondage of the Egyptians. They were not to defile themselves by serving the false gods of Egypt. As the Holy Spirit says to us today, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

As followers of Jesus Christ, we know that entering into the eternal promised land of the New Jerusalem depends on turning away from sin and being set apart from the ways of this world. We flee from the sin of denying God as our Creator, we no longer discard the need of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin, and we no longer oppress the presence of the Holy Spirit. We have no desire to be defiled by the false god that gives people what to feel, think, say, and do. This false god enables the image of the beast to live and speak through people. The global culture is groomed to the mark of the beast by what they say and do.

2000 years ago, the Jewish people were told that they needed to reconcile to God through Jesus Christ. Jesus made them aware that they needed to be cleansed of sin and to be born again by the Spirit. “Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” Jon 3:5-6 Unfortunately, the Israelis have defiled themselves with the false god of the global culture that gives them what to do, say, think, and say. They have the most liberal abortion rights in the world and promote the lifestyles of the LGBQT community. On top of that, the Israelis routinely riot and protest against their own government to demand conformity to the will of the United Nations.

Even in the books of Acts, Israel is grouped among the government leaders and unbelievers who called for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. “Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed.” Acts 4:27

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:11
