The foundation is laid bare when the wall falls.

“So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.” Ezekiel 13:14

When the walls of a building falls, the foundation it was built on is still there and is made visible for everyone to see. It’s possible to have the best foundation this world has to offer, but if the walls on that foundation are inferior, the whole building collapses. People might say, “Wow, that foundation is spectacular, too bad the walls weren’t.”

After God brings the fury of His wrath, the Bible often says, “…and you will know that I am the Lord.” We can view this as God being the foundation and we need to be built up by His Spirit through Jesus Christ. If we are not being built up in the word of God, then we will be destroyed, and Jesus Christ will return revealing that He is the foundation of all life. “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Today, it’s obvious that the State of Israel has been built with walls of the untempered mortar of this world. They rejected Jesus Christ 2000 years ago, who is the chief cornerstone for building those walls correctly, “Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone.” Matthew 21:42 In those days, the cornerstone was the one building block used to align all the other stones of the walls, as pictured below.

When the Jewish people rejected Jesus Christ, they chose to build on the Godly foundations of the word of God without building the wall with Jesus Christ. They live by the Old Testament but have tossed aside the entire New Testament, the entire Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a result, they have the Jewish State of Israel as the wall they have built. As we see today, that wall is being broken down, as God said He would do. Since the year the State of Israel was established in 1948, the Israelis have been in eighteen wars that are breaking down their walls. If the Jewish people had accepted Jesus Christ 2000 years ago, they would be built up as a spiritual house by the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit. The walls of the Jewish State of Israel would never have existed because as Christians we do not have a nation on this earth to call our own. Our nation is the New Jerusalem in the New heaven and earth.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are “Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” 1 Peter 2:4-6
