“The word of the Lord came again to me, saying, “Now, son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre, and say to Tyre, ‘You who dwell at the entrance of the sea, merchant of the peoples on many coastlands, thus says the Lord God:” Ezekiel 27:1-3a

The following scriptures in this chapter are an expression of the grief of God against America. The Holy Spirit gives a detailed description of America, so there is no mystery of the nation that God mourns against. In the last few verses, 25-36, is the description of the collapse of the economy of America, brought on by the “east winds” (according to the judgment of God).

America is situated at the “entrance of the sea” in being the democracy of the world that allowed many people of different nationalities to immigrate to. Also, America is literally situated at the entrance of the sea on the west coast by the Pacific Ocean, and on the east coast by the Atlantic Ocean, and a large part on the South coast by the Gulf of Mexico. America is the merchant that has trade with many coastlands of many nationalities. Coastlands are countries with seaports and airports to receive merchandise from America. In Ezekiel’s days, there were seaports, but not airports, but they are still coastlands to facilitate economic trade.

Entrance through the gate into the presence of God comes through Jesus Christ, “I am the gate. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” John 10:9 Jesus Christ sets us apart from the entrance leading into the broad way of mainstream society to lead us into the entrance of the narrow way that leads to eternal life, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
