“Therefore thus saith the Lord God; As I live, surely mine oath that he hath despised, and my covenant that he hath broken, even it will I recompense upon his own head.” Ezekiel 17:19
The “he” in this verse refers to the leader of Israel, who broke the promise to keep the agreement of peace with the global government of that time. Most importantly, the leader of Israel broke the promise made to God to live according to His will. His will for them was one of peace under captivity of the king of Babylon. Because they violated God’s will, and resorted to military empowerment, the wrath of God’s judgment came to them through the military of the king of Babylon.
Living in the spirit of Holiness is to live for the peace of God through Jesus Christ. As the Holy Spirit says, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:15 We are never to despise the oath we made to hold firm to the covenant God made with us, which is, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 We want the love of God to live in us so that we impart life through Christ’s Gospel of peace.
When the Jewish people rejected Jesus Christ, they broke their oath to serve the will of God and the covenant made between Israel and God was broken. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…” John 1:12 The Jewish people do not receive Jesus as their Messiah, Lord, and Savior, and the consequences are coming back on their own head. They have rejected the covenant of peace by empowering themselves with military capabilities, aggression, and violence. If the Israelis were Christians, the Jewish State of Israel would not exist, and neither would their need for military aggression. The recompense of their rejection of Christ is upon their own head.
Since the State of Israel was established in 1948, the wrath of God’s judgment has been on them. The Israeli’s military empowerment has resulted in God recompensing that on their own head. They have been in 18 wars since 1948 and even in a war in that same year. Click for a list of those wars and scroll close to the bottom of the page.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
