“Then King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther and Mordecai the Jew, “Indeed, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and they have hanged him on the gallows because he tried to lay his hand on the Jews.” Esther 8:7
The king expressed his “love” and gratitude for his wife Queen Esther and her cousin Mordecai by listing the actions he had taken for their sake. He assured them of his willingness to do anything for them. What the king did for them was to kill a man who plotted a terrorist attack against the Jewish people, which was also to silence the only witness to his conspiracy against the Jewish people. In addition, he granted them a luxurious house and a position of authority in his administration.
Esther and Mordecai followed God and the Ten Commandments faithfully, so they probably cringed about the king’s actions on their behalf. People suffering from narcissism and grandiosity do not have emotional or spiritual connections with others and do not feel empathy. In the king’s narcissistic mind, he was bestowing a tremendous favor on them by ordering someone’s death for their sake, granting them a luxurious house, and endowing them with authority within his administration.
The sufferings of the soul of Jesus Christ ached to bring life not to kill, yearned to give humility not an inflated ego, and longed to give spiritual riches not worldly. “For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” Luke 9:56 When it comes to the temptation for power and authority this is written, “And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” Luke 4:6-8 When it comes to materialism, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” Mark 8:36
“You yourselves write a decree concerning the Jews, as you please, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s signet ring; for whatever is written in the king’s name and sealed with the king’s signet ring no one can revoke.” Esther 8:8
The king informed Queen Esther and Mordecai that his laws were irrevocable. Since Haman’s decree to exterminate the Jewish people had the king’s seal, it could not be undone. To counteract the law that threatened to annihilate their people, the king suggests that Esther and Mordecai write their own law. This law would allow the Jewish people to arm themselves and defend against the impending terrorist attack. In essence, this would be a “stand-your-ground” law.
On October 7, 2023, the State of Israel faced an attack from the terroristic group Hamas. The government of Israel was given the legal leeway to fight back to protect themselves. This is a mirror image of Haman’s terroristic actions against the Jewish people and how the Jewish people were legally allowed to defend themselves. Today, there is an implied law that the sovereignty of the State of Israel will not exist under the United Nations as progression is made towards the one world government. The law cannot be changed or reversed. The conflict in the Middle East persists, opposing the sovereignty of Israel. But Israel keeps fighting for its survival, surrounded on all sides by enemies.
Since the recognition of Israel as a State in 1948, there has been 18 wars, including in that year. Click here for a list of those wars and scroll to near the bottom of the page.
When Jesus Christ came to atone for sin, He enabled our spirit and soul to house the Holy Spirit. Through the Spirit, we fight the good fight of faith, “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12 The fight is through the Spirit of God not physical might, “‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.” Zachariah 4:6 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
