The new heaven and earth come, and this old heaven and earth is desolated.

 “And it will come to pass in that day that the mountains shall drip with new wine, the hills shall flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water; A fountain shall flow from the house of the Lord and water the Valley of Acacias.” Joel 3:18

“And it will come to pass in that day that the mountains shall drip with new wine…” The new wine that the mountains are dripping with is the New Covenant of God made through Jesus Christ. No more would the old laws of the Old Testament be followed of killing animals year after year after year to atone for sin. Jesus Christ came as the sacrificial Lamb of God to atone for sin once and for all. The New Wine is summed up in this verse, “For in this way God loved the world, so that He gave His one and only Son, in order that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but will have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world in order that He should condemn the world, but in order that the world should be saved through Him.” John 3:16-17

Through the New Wine of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we inherit eternal life in the New Jerusalem as described in the next verses, “…the hills shall flow with milk…” refer to the promised land of the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth, “So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey…” Exodus 3:8 

“…and all the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water; A fountain shall flow from the house of the Lord and water the Valley of Acacias.” refers to the Water of Life in the eternal New Jerusalem as described in Ezekiel 47 and also described in Revelation 22:1 “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.”

“Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom a desolate wilderness, because of violence against the people of Judah, for they have shed innocent blood in their land.” Joel 3:19

Egypt and Edom refer to being held captive to sin and today the global culture is captive to sin. They reject Jesus Christ to live by the thing giving them what to feel, think, do, and say. It rejects the existence of God the Creator, rejects Jesus Christ who frees from the bondage of sin, and opposes the Holy Spirit who enables us to walk in the freedom of Holiness. This present world system is a desolate wilderness referring to the global absence of the fruit of the Spirit, mercy, grace, Salvation, and life. The desolation also refers to the destruction of this planet on the Day of the Lord.

The people of Judah are the followers of Jesus Christ because He is from the Tribe of Judah, and we are born into the family of God through Him. The global culture does violence to Christianity and shed innocent blood in the land of the global government of the beast (the United Nations). They are shedding innocent blood through the traits of psychopathy which is a consequence of living without a human conscience. The human conscience is replaced by the thing giving people what to feel, think, do, and say. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through people and by what they do and say violence is done to Christianity and the innocent. The masses of people conform to the anti-Christian global culture as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they say and do.

The global culture does violence to God’s children and shed innocent blood within their egocentric attitude. They feel empowered to exalt their own authority above the authority of God who says we must love one another through Jesus Christ. In doing violence and shedding innocent blood they feel no guilt, no remorse, and abhor hearing that they are sinners in need of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. They see the Holy Spirit as someone to oppress, manipulate, dominate, oppose, and to kill. The world fills with the blood of the innocent as lawlessness and anti-social activity flourishes globally with no empathy for human beings.

“But Judah shall abide forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. For I will acquit them of the guilt of bloodshed, whom I had not acquitted; For the Lord dwells in Zion.” Joel 3:20-21

There are multitudes and multitudes in the valley of decision who are presently living for the global government of the beast. Jesus Christ promises to acquit each and every one of the guilt of shedding innocent blood. As it stands, they are not acquitted, but when they come to God through Jesus Christ they are acquitted. “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus….therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” Romans 3:23-24 and John 8:36 Our Lord lives in Zion, which is Heaven, and it is His will to set us free of sin, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” Galatians 5:1
