“Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand: A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains.” Joel 2:1-2
The verse above is an excellent example of how Zion represents Heaven because the trumpet is blown in Zion. The Seven Trumpets of Revelation are each one blown by an angel of Heaven. The Seventh Trumpet (Revelation 11:15-19) is blown when our Lord Jesus Christ returns and corresponds to the Day of Lord. In can be said that the Seventh Trumpet is blown in Zion.
God has seven angels of Heaven and each one blows one of the Seven Trumpets to sound the alarm on the dark, gloomy, and terrible day coming to the world. The events happening within each of the Seven Trumpets is like a tornado warning siren to turn people to seek safety in Him by accepting His Son Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. After the first six trumpets blow, the Holy Spirit reveals to us, “But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.” Revelation 9:20-21 The “rest of mankind” are like those who ignored the tornado warning siren and were lost in the destruction of the storm.
The events of the Day of the Lord are clearly described as entwining the earth’s dark and gloomy destruction with the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Bible is very clear about what the events of the Day of the Lord entails. What Joel describes in the verses of this post is in synch with all other descriptions of the Day of the Lord. In Zechariah 14, the Holy Spirit reveals the events in the Day of the Lord, as does Revelation 16:17-21, and also Revelation 11:15-19. Also, Matthew 24 as well as Luke 21 and Mark 13 as well as other places in the word of God agrees with the description of the Day of the Lord.
Below are excerpts about the Day of the Lord taken from the Bible references mentioned above. First, the State of Israel will be conquered by United Nations and then the United Nations will be defeated by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, as quoted, “Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, and your spoil will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem…then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle.” Zechariah 14:1-3
For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be. For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so, shall also the coming of the Son of man be. But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.”
“Then the seventh angel sounded (Seventh Trumpet): And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” “The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air (Seventh Plague), and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne, saying, “It is done!”
Mark 13:19, Luke 21:22, Matthew 24:36-42, Mark 13:24-26, Matthew 24:27-28, 2 Peter 3:10, Revelation 11:15, Revelation 16:17
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:11
