As followers of Jesus Christ, we are the temple of God as the temple of the Holy Spirit

“Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.” John 5:14

After Jesus healed the man in spirit and soul, the man was found in the temple of God. When Jesus Christ puts our sin in remission, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit and that is where we are found as Christians. To willfully sin after that would be to choose to reject the welcome once extended to the presence of the Holy Spirit.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we want to be found in the temple of God after being healed within the spirit and soul. By the remission of sin, Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit and we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Once we enter into the presence of the Holy Spirit, if we sin by denying God, rejecting Jesus Christ, and ridiculing the Holy Spirit, something worse would come on us than before. That’s because we would be willfully and consciously opposing the goodness, mercy and grace of God, willfully living in sin and refusing the remission of sin Jesus offers and willfully rejecting the presence of the Holy Spirit.

We are the temple of God, and the sign of our Salvation is our soul being filled with the Spirit of Christ,

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

If we purposely sin against the Holy Spirit within us, then worst things happen than ever before. We are seeing that happening in today’s world as people welcome the thing which forms what they think, feel, say and do. It enables the image of the beast to live and speak through people and by what they say and do they willfully deny God the Creator, reject the remission of sin through Jesus Christ, and ridicule the presence of the Holy Spirit. They are conformed to the anti-Christian global culture as they are groomed to the mark of the beast by what they say and do.

Humanity has become the “man of sin” as the body has become the living place of the thing forming thoughts, feelings, words, and deeds.

…he opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

(The “he” in the verse above refers to the “man of sin”, the “lawless one”, or the “son of perdition”. Click here for a post on the “man of sin”.

2 Thessalonians 2:4

We can assess that the healing of the spirit and soul invites the Holy Spirit to reside in us as we become the temple of the Holy Spirit. The diagnosis is that the global culture is in a much worse state as they welcome the thing giving them what to think, feel, say, and do. We plan to dedicate our body as the home of the Holy Spirit and not befriending the blasphemous thing that lives in thoughts, words, feelings, and behaviors. We implement that plan by living for Jesus Christ who puts sin in remission and gives the Holy Spirit. We know the plan is successful when we desire for our thoughts, feelings, words, and behaviors to reflect the image of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” Hebrews 4:12-13

“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25
, 3:1
