“So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.” John 4:40
As sinners coming to Jesus Christ, we want Him to stay with us, and He does. He stays with us within our soul by the infilling of the Holy Spirit who comes to us by the remission of sin. Sin is to reject God, discard the need for Jesus, and to trample on the Holy Spirit. Our sin is forgiven when we believe in God, accept His Son Jesus Christ, and welcome the presence of the Holy Spirit. We are saved by believing Jesus Christ is alive after being resurrected from the dead and by confessing that Jesus is Lord.
The thing forming what we think, feel, say and do has its existence through sin as it blasphemes God, discards the need for the Lord Jesus, and tramples on the Holy Spirit. Its existence is to enable the image of the beast to speak and live through people and opposes the Spirit of Christ staying within a person’s soul. As it lives and speaks through people they are conformed to their place in life, their mark in life, as they are groomed to the mark of the beast.
We are the temple of the Holy Spirit where the Spirit of Christ stays, but the thing which forms thoughts, feelings, and behaviors wants to sit in the temple as if it were God, and to evict Jesus, “…he opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:4 The “he” in the verse above refers to the “man of sin”, which is described in 2 Thessalonians 2:
As followers of Christ, we have a new song to sing which goes something like this,
Heaven came down and glory filled my soul
When at the cross my Savior made me whole
My sins were washed away
And my night was turned to day
When heaven came down and glory filled my soul
O, what a wonderful, wonderful day
Day I will never forget
When I was wandering in darkness away
Jesus my Savior I met
(Church Hymn)
We can assess that we who have experienced the presence of Jesus Christ wants Him to remain with us through the Holy Spirit. The diagnosis is that those of the global culture rejects the Gospel of Christ and do not want His presence with them. We plan to urge the Spirit of Christ to remain with us as we live in this world which is increasingly hostile to Christianity and the State of Israel. We implement that plan by acknowledging our need for the remission of sin through Jesus Christ and embracing the presence of the Holy Spirit. We know that plan is successful when the Lord Jesus lives in us, and we confess our belief in God. We believe in our heart that God has raised Jesus Christ from the dead and say with our mouth that He is Lord.
“….to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets,“
‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’”
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
Revelation 2:24-25, 3:1
